Did Roy Jones Jr. really lose to Montell Griffin in their first fight?

  1. Yes, if you hit a boxer who is down, you deserve to be disqualified.

  2. No, this is a classic case of shady refereeing and Oscar level acting by Griffin

The still photo of that punch says it all.

Until Ali, I don’t know that any opponent had George more ****ed off than Jose Roman.

George was a very mean mo fo back then. No prisoners.

    Absolutely fair DQ.

I’m not so much a Jones Jr fan (no hate) but I totally give it up to him for his performance in the Griffin rematch.

He completely shelved any safety first manoeuvres and went for the kill - singularly and repeatedly launching the left hook from first bell.

His preferred money shot was made very clear.

In the face of high risk he was duly rewarded with a sensational 1st round KO.

    Great stuff from Roy.
