Exactly look at the names there.

Sugar Ray Robinson is seen by many as the Goat.

Tyson is a top 10 HW by almost everyone.

Liston is seen as an ATG HW, he just has a thin resume.

De La Hoya has issues in that he never really cleanly beat a great himself. Whitaker, Tito, Mosley, Hopkins, Mayweather. They're all the greats he faced as a champion and he arguably didn't win a single fight.

I don't recall seeing anyone consider Fury or Loma an ATG.

I certainly haven't seen anyone consider those an ATG whilst also considering Jones not an ATG.

    Based on what?

Had he done enough before Lewis he would do enough to be ranked higher regardless.

And yet both are arguably the greatest fight ever in their division.

Leonard is a consensus top ten ATG WW fighter.

Rocky has the issue that the division has outgrown him.

You've never seen fury or Loma called all time greats at their weight class in this forum?

I don't ever recall seeing anyone claim those two are an ATG but Jones isn't.

    Perception doesn't answer the question.

Do you think he had done enough before the Lewis fight to be an ATG.

I didn't say that. I said they are calling fury and Loma atgs before proving anything while at the same time selling a bonafide proven atg short because he didn't win every fight of his 30 year career

    Who is they?

If by they you mean someone calls fury an ATG, someone else calls Loma an ATG and someone else says Jones isn't an ATG, well that's the nature of a subjective sport where people debate opinions.

People will always have differing opinions.

I have someone on here telling me Robinson harmed his legacy by fighting too long, I have someone else telling me they rank Robinson number 1 ATG.

If you find one person saying all those things, point out their hypocrisy. If you see multiple people saying different things to each other, that's the whole point of a forum I'm afraid.

Most casuals rate Ali over him. And although he is regarded by many as being automatically top 3 or top 5, the fact that he isn't seen as the GOAT by almost everyone (the way Michael Jordan is for example) tells you everything.

Are you new to this forum or something ?!? o_Oo_Oo_O
Didn't you see how many posters on this forum don't see him as a top 10 and belittle him ?!?

Liston cleaned out the division in the 50's, yet very few give him his due. Most belittle him for his loses to Ali. There are countless idiots who believe that Ali legitimately KO'd him in their second fight.

He was passed his prime when he faced Mayweather and Hopkins.
He would be better regarded had he retired around 2003.

Never mind most casuals, let's focus on you.

Do you have Robinson the goat? Or do you say no because of his past prime losses.

Do you have Tyson and Liston a top ten HW? Or do you say no because of his past prime losses.

Do you consider De La Hoya an ATG? Or do you say no because of his past prime losses?

Yes I did ...and I still do ....I think Evander Holyfield is the most underrated fighter on this board
