Nallage was making it seem like Glass Jaw Roy was forced to fight Tarver 8 weeks after the Ruiz fight which is not true. Roy had plenty of time to adjust back to light heavyweight for the first Tarver fight and even more time for the second Tarver fight and then the Glen Johnson fight.

That weight drain excuse does not fly.

However, I do know this.... Jones was hit with harder shots throughout his career than the two that KO'd him with Tarver and Johnson. And he took those shots pretty well. In fact, Ruiz (although not a heavy puncher for a HW) hit Jones harder than both of them and he wasnt faized. Ruiz hits harder than Johnson and Tarver.

You also realize Jones could never get the fight with LL who turned down the fight because he would gain nothing from it and didn't want a murder charge on his record.

 

The guy came up as a middleweight. To fight any HW is a major accomplishment. You cant look down on him for never fighting Lewis. Thats just crazy.

Going back to my point... If Ruiz hits harder and in fact did hit Roy with harder (and clean shots) in their fight, why was he not even fazed? Yet he was KO'd by two guys not known for their power?

If he had a glass jaw, Ruiz would have KO'd him.

In fact, didnt Jones challenge both Tyson and Lewis at that time? But since he couldnt get either fight he went back down to the **** talking Tarver.

Not that Jones would have beaten either one of this guys but this is hardly an act of a cherry picker that Rico calls Roy.

 

Roy is all talk. If it came down to it he would have never signed to fight tyson or Lennox at heavyweight. Hell, he would not even fight Chris Byrd at Heavyweight because he actually had some skill.

How many times did Glass Jaw Roy say in his career he would fight someone only to either price himself out, claim the other guy was ducking him or go and fight a useless mandatory fight.
