I would bet a million dollars (if I had it), that Jones lost those 11 pounds within 24 hours of the weigh in by simply sweating out the water weight and dehydrating. I can't even guess how many times that I have done this myself. Not only that, but I have lost more than 11 pounds of water weight in this very same manner. Is it fun? **** no, but you just rehydrate afterwards and everything feels better.

Jones didn't seem to me like he cut too much muscle, ect... If anything, he may have overtrained a bit because he wanted to knock Tarver out so bad. Now, this was only the first fight though. Jones himself admitted that he was in PERFECT form for his second fight with Tarver, and Jones looked GREAT in the first round... then was knocked out in the second. There are no excuses for the fights that he actually lost.

I've met Tarver, and he is a big, tall lhw. It is not impossible for me to believe that he weighed 220 for his part in Rocky or more. Let's say Jones did only gain up to 186 for the Ruiz fight. The time line says Jones had enough time to lose the weight properly, but remember, Jones had a decision to make...defend his HW title, or go down in weight and fight his mandatory. He relinquished the title, and didn't have a lot of time to properly take the weight/muscle off. That is my point. Same thing with Tarver. I heard Tarver only had a few weeks to take off the weight also, and he even said he hated the food he was eating to lose that weight.

Whether Jones lost the 11 lbs within 24 hours or not, he was affected by the loss after fight 1 with Tarver. Anyone can sweat it out(11 lbs) and feel great afterwards lol, but asking yourself/body to go 12 rounds with a hungry, well schooled southpaw lhw is something else. I just think that Jones was permanently affected, but it also didn't help that he also was getting old at age 35, and that he truly was not a true lhw to begin with. Tarver exposed that in some ways in the rematch. This of course is my opinion. I'm not God lol. Jones lost to Johnson a year later...so that is why I asked my question in my thread topic.
