Did Roy Jones start losing at LHW when his competition stepped up?

I disagree with that, Headgiver is a moron.

I would agree that Tarver was Roy's greatest LHW challenge, but I'd never dismiss messers McCallum, Griffin, Hill, Johnson, Woods and Harding as being poor fighters, not by any means.

Any intelligent person can sit and pick apart a fighters resume to suit their agenda, you know what as well as me. I personally think that the weight loss is what ended Jones' dominance.

I'll use Tarver as an example, he wasn't the same himself once he lost the weight from the Balboa movie to return to LHW, I despise how he uses that as an excuse for himself, yet claims that he beat the best version of Roy Jones.

Roy's chin was simply cracked, he took solid shots from Tarver the first time, and Glen Johnson, but since that second knock out he's not been able to take any punishment, so I don't see it as being a flaw that he hid with his skills, I see it as a result of it being cracked.

I have to side with Joe Calzaghe here who clearly stated that Jones was shot and washed up before he fought him.

He said that in his autobiography. To semi-quote him: "There is no point in fighting Jones now that he has been koed twice"

    Thanks
I agree that beating Nunn at lhw wouldn't of meant much in terms of legacy. In fact it would basically be on the same level as beating old McCallum.

Nunn's 'lLast Hurrah' was when he hooked back up with the Goosen's during the back end of his smw career. He couldnt get fights with Benn or Jones and King most likely would of wanted options in exchange for a Liles rematch. Nunn basically moved up because he wasn't that disciplined anymore and he eventually slipped into drugs.
Collins would of had zero chance against Jones, but Jones should of turned him down flat instead of messing him around
    I can agree with that
That was never going to happen because King would of wanted options if Tyson won. In order to get the Ruiz fight Jones agreed that King would be his promoter as long as he held the wba hw belt

Lewis wasnt sure if there was any point in taking the fight because at the end of the day he would be fighting a pumped up lhw, while Lewis on the other hand was a shw. Lewis at that time was contractually obiged to give Vitali a rematch or get stripped. So the Jones-Lewis fight was never a real possibility.

    Your welcome
    Nice debating with you

SJS19, Zod, thanks a lot guys. I realise now that most of the posters are just trying to get a rise out of people. I suppose it's amusing in a way, but it's better having a great debate than posting stuff like Roid Jones, Glass jaw etc etc. But I joined to have a debate, and once again it's been a pleasure debating with guys such as you two. Bailey's ok ha! I'll definately stick around and I'm really glad that i've joned.

I'd like to ask you both a question if that's ok? You've both probably answered it a thousand times in the past, so if you don't want to answer it, that's fine. But my question is, If Roy had've fought Calzaghe 97-2002 what do you think would have happened. I know I may be a bit biased sometimes because I'm such a big fan of Roy's, but I honestly think that Roy would have won by TKO late on after dropping him at least once.

    regards, Loudon.

Again you dam liar Rocchigianni chose to take the WBC to court ! How many times does this have to be told to you ? What part of that do you not understand ? Instead of fighting Jones he chose to sue ! Now get your ****ing facts streight ! Your whole argument is about Jones and his titles ! Why don't you bring up how DM ducked Devalle ? Its all selective criticsm from your ass and you continue to expose yourself again and again Failey the Boxing Rec Warrior ! Its obvious you don't know what the hell you are talking about as awlays !

Rochi didnt "choose" to sue he had to his title was taken away for no reason.

And he was proved correct and the WBC got a bill for $35 million dollars and were going to be closed unless Rochi did not agree to take some other I imagine lesser fee that was undisclosed

If Rochi did not sue then he would have willing accepted what they did to him !!!

Stick to the topic in hand man, you dont need to come here talking about being a cuckold and how you replaced your wife with boxrec.

All you been doing is ducking the points but now you answered them after 24 pages of dodging and contradicting yourself in regards to your boxrec affair.

    Anyway stick to the topic....
