Tarver had his number and it destroyed him mentally.

After the Tarver knockout Jones' punch output dropped considerably, he became a timid scared fighter. Scared fighters that aren't throwing as many punches as they should get hurt easier.

In early March 2012, knockout artist also known as KnockedOut artist or knockout, finally found a purpose in life.

    http://eastsideboxing.com/forum/showpost.php?p=12255550&postcount=138

Immediately praetorianJJ, also known as PJJ gave knockout the secrets of getting into Team Elite.

    http://eastsideboxing.com/forum/showpost.php?p=12255567&postcount=139

Eventually, Team Elite General and ESB HOF'er HEADBANGER, gave knockout a job to work under everyone else as a toilet cleaner. But an enthusiastic knockout was not discouraged as working in Team Elite meant a lot to him.

    http://eastsideboxing.com/forum/showpost.php?p=12280956&postcount=253

Another Team Elite General bailey, also known as failey, gave knockout some words of advice on how to clean the Team Elite toilets.

    http://eastsideboxing.com/forum/showpost.php?p=12280578&postcount=246

    :rofl

knockout Artist had high hopes and aspirations going into Team Elite, hoping to one day make it as a Team Elite General.

    http://eastsideboxing.com/forum/showpost.php?p=12255864&postcount=156

July has come, and knockout artist is still stuck in the Team Elite toilets with a sponge and bottle of fairy liquid. However, after being in the corporation for over 3 months he does get Chappie Dog food discount despite not owning a dog.

The Team Elite Generals were 7 in number in March, and are still 7 in number today with no sign of knockout artist.

What a shame soulja, I thought we had a truce. In an attempt to deflect attention from the thrashing Joe.Boxer is giving you, now you want to embarrass yourself further?

Perhaps you should take a look at this thread

Now you need to stay focused on your task at hand, because Joe.Boxer is taking you to school.

No, the Tarver 2 fight just ruined him. He lost his chin and confidence.

He started to lose when he started to miss with his weight. He should have gone to crusierweight or stayed a t heavyweight.

Hi mate, excellent reply, thanks for this

I think Roy was overconfident going into the second fight with Tarver, he felt if he beat Tarver when he was weakened, then he would beat him easy now he felt better. He took some good shots off Tarver in the first fight to be fair, so I don't think he respected that Tarver could really hurt him.

The KO itself was somewhat fortunate, and somewhat Roy's fault for trading left hooks with a big hitting southpaw.

I think Tarver deserves credit as well, Jones was obviously older at that stage, but he was still considered by many the best fighter on the planet. I think he also made a huge mistake jumping back in against Glen Johnson so soon after, I'd consider that the worst night of his career, he didn't just get stopped, he got beaten comprehensively

I don't think the recent losses hurt his legacy at all, they don't take away from what he did in his prime. Now he's clearly far from his best, unfortunately he won't hang them up.

Good post... Thanks for the reply:good

I also thought the Johnson fight was too quick to jump back in the ring.. I even believe Bernard Hopkins predicted Johnson to win.. i thought Roy was gonna win, I thought the Tarver shot just caught him good, and he would come back strong... It was around the 3rd or 4th round, when I realized Roy was not gonna win this fight... This was the fight too where I really think he showed how far his punch resistance had gone since the KO.

After the brutal stoppage, I thought we were never gonna see Roy in the ring again.. But yet he fights on.. Still had a couple entertaining, fights, no wins of meaning really. Also a couple more knockout losses, and a complete schooling by Calzaghe. I don't really think those hurt his legacy just because of how far he has gone downhill..

I really wish he was more willing to travel when he was on top, but I guess when you have nothing to lose and need money, you do what you have to.

    Team Elite and The Chincheckers always believe in fairplay however, so let's remember some of realpussy's more honest and accurate remarks;

realpussy proudly declares Joe.Boxer schooled him.

realpussy confesses he was schooled in this thread by the best (me), despite lying and claiming GIMPerial1 was winning the debate, when infact I was clearly destroying GIMPerial in every single exchange. realpussy only made these false claims because he is a Roy Jones nuthugger. Fact. I mean, realpussy never even picked up on, or deliberately ignored, GIMPerial's countless factual mistakes, full-****** misunderstandings, and obvious lies, along with GIMPerial always being wrong anyway.

That is the epitome of a dishonest noob nuthugger on fake soulja's part.

    Overall conclusion = ****ing disgrace.

No worries champ, thanks for the response

I didn't see that Hopkins predicted Johnson to win, that's really interesting. I bet Bernard regrets not trying to get in the ring with Roy soon after Ruiz, when he was still a big draw, but had slowed down considerably.

The Tarver just took that edge away from Roy mentally, fighting the way he did with his hands down, relying on reflexes requires a lot of self confidence and belief. I guess Tarver took that away from him, which led to him being gunshy. I remember watching the Johnson fight throughout, thinking Roy's going to do something soon, and it just never happened, he should never have fought that soon.

I hate seeing great fighters go out on losses, and by the time Roy fought Trinidad, or Lacy (two reasonable performances), Roy should have known he wasn't the same and hung them up on a win. I thought he was going to retire when he beat Alexander in December. I just can't believe they're still allowing him to fight, he's a complete shell. As you said though, the losses don't take away from what he did in his prime, his legacy is already secure.

In his prime, I'm not sure he needed to travel, though it would have been huge if he beat DM in Germany. I'm not entirely sure on what happened with DM, but I'm sure if Roy made a few concessions on money he could have got some of those big names in the ring with him. I just don't think he showed the willingness to make big fights, of all the names people list, if he got 2 or 3 of those guys on his resume, it would really improve things, like Benn, Collins, Jackson, Nunn or Liles, it's a shame about what happened to G-Man as that would have been a huge fight as well.

Is Roy broke? Is that why he's still fighting? He's made so much money throughout his career, it's hard to imagine he's broke?

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

realpussy accusing others of taking other people's words out of context to suit their agenda??? That's a good one. Priceless. gtfo out of this thread you hypocritical clown.

YOU thought NATHAN CLEVERLY was the Lineal Champion, with the criteria you'd been given. You stupid, stupid plonker. NO Team Elite member EVER thought Cleverly was the Lineal champion.
