    Watch some of Naseem Hamed's early fights, he always used to talk to his opponent.

    That was fight was very hyped, I remember seeing the weigh-in results showed on ESPN in the daytime, mutiple accounts of fighters from lower weights who stepped up to HW, etc.. It was a big fight. Biggest one Ruiz's ever been in.

    Exactly - it's not like Ruiz with his constant violation of the rules against excessive holding, and his shameful faking of low blows - is some paragon of sportsmanship.

    Just the opposite, he's a disgrace to the sport. If Jones talked **** to that cheater, good for him! :yep

    Dude- Roy Jones talked **** to Tarver from his hospital bed after he got ko'd! :) Im sure he was smack talkin against Ruiz! (nothing beats the Pazienza taunts though :) )

    I did a YouTube video about that fight -- all the pre-fight hoopla in L.A and Vegas. Mostly, Roy ignored Ruiz, showed up only for the final weigh-in press conference...which sucked for Ruiz, since the only money he was gonna make was if the PPV was over a certain amount. Roy's purse was guaranteed, and he made no effort to support the promotion.
