“I had time to think about if I really wanted to do this. Tank has always wanted to do things that are going to make him as comfortable as he could be and as ready as he could be going into a fight. I didn't need to tune up and I don't need to tune up. I want to put on the biggest fights for the fans. So I've decided that I'm done f------ around. I'm ready to go right after Tank.”

    Weird! Very weird! Ultra weird!

    It's very, very likely.

I do believe that was the reason for his public 'mental health recovery' too. I don't think he was ever mentally unwell, instead, his doctor advised that his cycle timing was out and the risk of his PCT clashing with testing was incredibly likely. The only alternative to testing dirty was to load up on low-grade PED to cloud judgement via masking (for example, clen + tainted beef theory).

With recent events, this would ultimately ruin his reputation and the Reynoso brand. I think we're seeing another round of this, instead, he's coming out with a flex, to cover his tracks.

Makes ZERO sense to skip a tune-up.

Yeah I think so. It makes no sense not to take a tuneup especially since Tank is having one. My bet is Garcia Tank won’t happen anyway. Garcia doesn’t really want it IMO

I still don’t understand why Tank needs a tuneup. Both guys are young and prime, they are healthy and should be fighting each other next. I do t care about either guy fighting anyone but each other. Screw tuneups. Tank has fought tuneups since he got to 135. Fight a real opponent.

The fact that both guy just seemingly randomly chose April is weird as hell. I don't think the fight will happen because I don't think either guy really wants it.

Tanks fighting a "tuneup" because he has zero intention of fighting Garcia

The only way they can sell this trash fight is by promising that Garcia is next

And yes, Garcia not fighting is very likely due to PED's

No, Ryan is 100% right about this, fighting Gesta is a waste of time. It's completely pointless, at this point I doubt Gesta could even beat Fonseca, he definitely doesn't beat Fortuna, Campbell or Tagoe, and he pull a quit job and got a gift draw against Carlos Morales. Garcia just doesn't feel like playing along with with this tune up charade anymore.

He should have taken the tuneup. Now if he loses i can see him somehow using that as an excuse.

Garcia won't take the Tank fight, because he won't be prepared enough due to a missing warm-up fight

Tank won't take the Garcia fight, because he will injure himself in the tune-up fight

Later in 2023, we will see then Garcia vs. Commey and Tanks vs. Diaz

Hes a bipolar sissy. Hes having another mental breakdown. I'm not holding my breath waiting on him to fight tank or any top 5 fighter this year

This fight doesn’t do anything for Garcia. Step in ring , blast this guy out and collect a paycheck. That is all this fight will de for him. I wouldn’t even call it a tune up.

Hector Garcia is a decent opponent though. He’s an active undefeated world champion, as far as tune ups go, it’s more intriguing than most. A far better opponent than Romero.

I agree, but he’s not the top opponent Tank should be fighting at this stage of his career. Hector might win rounds but you know he’s not getting his arm raised no matter how well he does. Like Cruiz, he might give Tank a real battle and get screwed by the judges. I thought Cruiz deserved a draw at least.
