Well shavers power are abit overated In my belief, Foreman knocked out far better opposition. And it carried until his 40's.

You pretty much have to take the word of the top guys that fought them both, and if you do, the overwhelming opinion is that Shavers hit harder than any other HW at the time.

    Who are we to argue?

Foreman knocked better competition out because he was a much better fighter. The common oponents such as Lyle, Ali, and Norton say Shavers was the hardest puncher they ever fought.

Personally, Foreman stopped the better competition, but if the common guys said that Shavers hit harder than Foreman, than so be it.

You guys do realize that knocking out a guy is more of where you place a punch than how hard you hit, get a punch on the chin or get a punch in the solar plexus in round 10, guy problem can't get up in time. Shavers could have hit harder but may have just been swinging to wild with no aim to knockout people

To me or you the difference would be extremely minimal and we would be in row Z.

Well shavers punch would knock you over and hurt like hell, foremans punch would not hurt until you went home

First of all, Foreman ducked Shavers during both title reigns. Shavers even phoned Foreman after they both made comebacks, and asked him if he would finally fight him. Foreman replied, "Earnie, I didn't want to fight you in the seventies, and I don't want to fight you now."

That says something about how hard Shavers hit. And here's Ali's opinion:

I see the total opposite. Foreman's power would hurt you the whole fight till you were stopped. Shavers would just put you to sleep. In the end they were different kinds of punchers that ended up with the same devastating results.

Earnie hit harder but his punch was the overhand right and would try to land that punch over and over and wasn't a great finisher. Foreman had more punches hook, uppercut, straight right that all hit hard and that's why he finished more opponents because he had more ways to finish them.

Nah, people of frazier, norton and lyle calibre don't go down in round 2 from punches that hurt you the whole fight, you don't feel a thing from those kind of punches, just see a flash and you are looking up and don't know how
