His event win was incredible. Best of 2011 so far, only really rivaled by Hearn tonight

We must be really bored to still be talking about this fight. It was a throwaway, a flukey, unfortunate finish that ultimately proved nothing.

    How to win an event

    1) A fighter can win both the fight and the event

    2) A fighter does not have to be an underdog to win the event but it does help

    3) Losing a decision after clearly winning the fight is also a big help (See Ottke vs Reid.) Also known as ‘Being Ottke’d’

    4) Germans cannot win the event. This is due to the time when Robin Reid took their collective soul

    5) Losing via injury. If the crowd boo the person declared as the winner of the fight, then his injured opponent shall be declared the event winner

    6) Provide a spectacle, entertain the crowd & give the fight its memorable moment. Possibly the most creative way to win an event, chicken-dancing, outrageous DQs & bizarre behaviour have all been seen in recent years. Doing something unexpected & outrageous can win almost any event & quickly. (See Judah EVT2 Tzysu and Clottey EVT12 Pacquiao)

    7) Have a great background story before the fight. If you are suffering from a debilitating blood disorder, trying to save a playground or coming back from retirement then you have a great chance of getting a EVT on your record.

    8) Take a brutal, sustained beating or even an early KO. Sacrificing the fight win for the event win is a brave route to take. Being hospitalised, recieving oxygen or being carried out on a stretcher gives added kudos to this method, its the warriors choice. Going out on your shield has given us many highlight reel event wins down the years.

    9) Fight a German, preferably in Germany. An event with 2 Germans is recorded as no contest due to the Robin Reid Rule (RRR for short)

    10) Not all fights will have an event outcome. This will be decided by the Main Event Mafia.

    11) The Main Event Mafia reserves the right to review a fight and overturn an event decision based on new evidence

Extra event points are awarded for many differing reasons, most notably being a white male with dreadlocks and then getting a haircut in the middle of the fight. Also known as the Malignaggi Mafia Rule (MMR)

Please note that this guide is not final and is currently being strongly debated by The Main Event Mafia

Solis won the event clearly, as the following rule explains...

    5) Losing via injury. If the crowd boo the person declared as the winner of the fight, then his injured opponent shall be declared the event winner
