What's with all this sympothy being thrown at "Fast" Eddie Chambers? It's like his mama passed away or something. Is he actually from Haiti? I mean , seriously, this is still boxing right? The guy had to come forward and throw combonations to win, and he didn't have the guts, or the speed. There's a formula for beating a big man. It's called speed, and that just happens to be Eddie's middle name. Except, to utilize speed, you must train for speed and come ready to work and throw 60 punches a round. The thing not to do: Come to the fight lookin' like you just got off a burger king fast. Eddie did not come to win, I'm sorry to break the news. Guys thes days just don't stack up, it's all about the money. You ain't foolin' me Eddie. Get your ass up and start running, maybe you can compete at cruiserweight. Where's smokin' Joe when you need him? Philly, you gotta step it up on this one, your boys are goin' soft.:deal
Of course he came to win. He tried getting underneath Wlad's jab but that's not his style to bully and fight inside. Unfortunately it's a styles problem. You can never wait back and counter Wlad but he thought he could. It's against his style to fight any other way. Smokin Joe and Eddie Chambers are two completely different type of fighters.
Maybe you being abit tough lol....but i do see where you are coming from. He knew the challenge and shoulda been in better shape....the odds were always against him. He was smaller, not as strong, shorter reach....yes speed and skills (i.e. knowing when to throw combinations, countering etc.) was were his chances lay and he simply wasn't fast. I think he had the guts mate, just not the speed and skills.
chambers put up a good fight. He will be back, and do well , but he just will not beat a guy as big as Vlad.. too big a size difference.
