Did Sonnen lost gas and can't follow up or Silva suddenly had TDD?

That was a comment about his non existant stand up :conf

Which is true, so it makes it even more ridiculous that Silva was actually knocked down by Chael.

He was not stunned or nothing......those "knock downs" were not exactly a product of Sonnen´s power or something like that....

Any more examples of Sonnens stand up?

Nope, only point was to show how ridiculous it was to get KD'd by a very light puncher with below average stand up technique.

You give Sonnen **** in every post, I had to come back with something. :conf

Honestly, I really thought Sonned cracked Silva clean in the 1st fight and sent him stumbling.

One thing you do have to wonder about Silva, he is 38 now, how good really is his punch resistance these days and how much longer will it last?

When was the last time it was really tested if ever? Not trolling, just don't know.

The same reason why I'd like to see Munoz get a title shot.

I know Spider would smash him to bits, but if Munoz can get it to the ground and perform his GnP, it's interesting to see.

His punch resistance doesn't come into play as long as he's able to avoid punches the way he does, when he's standing up. If Sonnen packed a serious punch, he would probably have been TKO'd in the first fight.

It pains me to agree with that.

Sonnen did catch Spider a couple of times in their first bout. Perhaps luckily, Sonnen lacked the power to answer your question.

It's only a matter of time before that matrix stuff find's his chin on the business end of a staight knee. No fighter avoids all strikes and not all MMA fighters are striking ninnies.

Punch resistance is crucial to any ageing fighter whatever discipline. There alaways comes atime when "The mind is willing but the flesh is weak."

Could be that Silva just didn't respect the pillows of Sonnen. Silva barely shows anyone's striking any respect never mind someone he was expecting to come in and shoot at every opportunity.

On the original question Chael gasses way too early very like the Bisping fight looked done in the 2nd. I thought he wasted a lot of energy trying to get his leg out which clearly wasn't happening from the start.

Happens to the best of them. Ask Roy Jones.

Right, but I suspect that Silva won't stay around for long to find out.
