He got ridiculously outboxed and was mentally beaten down by Floyd.

Don't think he necessarily "mailed it in", he came off two good wins and he was confident. He got a rude awakening and a real boxing lesson at the hands of a great pugilist.

No. He didn't mail it in, he didn't quit, he didn't take a bribe and I personally don't believe he gassed out after two ****ing rounds either. He had an opponent that adjusted and outclassed him on a technical level and there was nothing he could do about it, mentally. The very poor man's version of it was Froch/Abraham.

Exactly. It was like Hagler/Hearns. The minute Tommy landed his devastating right hand and it was absorbed by the hagfro, he knew he had no chance. Same thing here.

All of the reasons listed are true, and contributed to his packing it in...

to me i thought floyd looked uncomfortable and rusty. Floyd looked like he forgot how to pull the trigger, missing left and right in the first round. After he got nailed good, he looked like he just say OKAY, lets go!

No, Floyd just hit him with some vicious shots in round 3, that Shane hasn't been hit with before, and being the mental midget that he is, he lost all his confidence.

Floyd speed and surprisingly his power was just too much for Mosley.

SN: Why do people seem to ignore and never mention that Floyd was about to KO Shane in either round 8 or 9 and hit a vicious straight right had Mosley staggering across the ring and as Mayweather was about to jump in for the kill the ref stepped in for no apparent reason, Floyd being the the conservative fighter he is, he just went back to boxing.

Mayweather's a superior athlete and Mosley saw that.Baldomir once said 'You dont realise how good this guy is until you are in the ring with him.'That frustrates any fighter.Manny on the other hand is there to be hit and watch this space you guys will see a vintage Mosley performance

Maybe because Floyd was punching back steadily coming forward, actually sitting down on his punches, something he had rarely done at 147 to protect his brittle hands, and Shane definitely felt his power, watch the last 30 seconds of that round and you'll see what I mean, that big left hook hurt Mosley, then Mosley knew he was dealing with a different type beast.

Yes he does. He has a tendency to lunge in and creates many clinches as a result.

No he simply showed his age that night, and at 38 yrs of age he just didn't have the speed he used to which led to Shane finally meeting someone who was faster than him, he tried to box and jab but got pulled-countered. Surprisingly Shane didn't do too bad in the last 2 rounds BUT rounds 3 to 10 he got a beating. I think despite obviously being well past it Shane would've likely beaten almost anyone else at 147, I thnk he would've gave Pac a tough fight that night too.
