All Stiverne can do is counter punch. He is extermely limited. He was able to lure Arreola into exchanging and then counter punching. Wilder didnt take the bait. They both suck. Wilder was totally untested. Stiverne was totally untested except for Arreola. HTF this was a title fight I don't know? It shows how ****e the HW division is though
No, Wilder was just the better man. Showed good control of distance and solid boxing ability. Didn't let Stiverne corner him and pretty comfortably won the fight. Stiverne on the other hand was too slow for a tall and mobile opponent and couldn't cut the ring off. Wilder also showed solid positioning and didn't let Stiverne lure him in. I was surprised at how good Wilder was in there.
Definitely not. Stiverne loaded up on plenty of punches, they just missed the target. If he was going to throw the fight, he would of laid down much earlier in the fight from a big right hand.
In a fight vs Demetrius King the stoppage was one of the worst of all time. Stiverne was more hurt vs Wilder in the 2nd and 7th rds. He wasn't even hurt vs King, check the video of the 'stoppage'.
Markq. Loool, so obssessed with Pac that he has to bring him up in a thread like this out of nowhere.
No he could hardly throw a punch. Wilder did good job keeping distance and not getting cut off. Stiverne managed a few power shots mostly to body but they seemed to lack power. Congrats to Wilder who obviously out pointed Stiverne. I think 245lb Wladimir Klitschko will be too big for 219lb Wilder to handle if unification fight happens IMO
Years ago, and it was a dreadful stoppage. That ref would have stopped Bermane in rd 1 of his recent bout with Areola.
An ATG post. I think most people would agree that Stiverne is not that good and Wilder is clearly not as bad as some would like to make out. Either way either a semi retired Vitali or Wlad sparks him. :deal
Nope, just underestimated Wilder and got taken to school. That's what happens when tall fighters play it safe. Props to Wilder and his team for that excellent strategy. Had Wilder tried to get his 33rd knock out, he probably would have got stopped. Stiverne's a very tough customer.
Can a mod close this thread already? It's utterly idiotic. First Scott threw and now Stiverne threw. LoL!
