think about it man, a few months before Pac fought Cotto at 145, he fought Hatton and weighed in at 138, and he looked absolutely spectacular.

It has nothing to do with using it as an excuse, it just is what it is.

If Pac was a real WW like you say he is, then he fighting at 145 would have the same impact on him as for Cotto.

If Pac wasn't smaller than Margo, then fighting at 150 would have the same impact on him as for Margo.

It's just basic logic. On one hand you say "Pac is trying to get an edge by draining his opponents" but you won't admit that Pac is smaller than his opponents.

People love the idea of being around when someone is "making history".

When you're fighting someone like marg you would do as much as you can to ensure the fight will actually sell. Just look at how well they stacked the undercard.

"I still want this fight at '47," said Roach. "But I don't think I'm going to get quite there. They're talking about catchweights, I'm against catchweight fights. Either do it or don't."
    ...
"Well, Pacquiao's only had one, though. I mean, they're calling him the 'Catchweight King' but he had [only] one. So it's a little unfair," said Roach, laughing loudly. But a 150-pound weight limit for the vacant WBC junior middleweight belt is something he opposes. "I mean, if you're going to fight for a title, fight for the whole one."

They are trying to sell this fight as a big historic achievement, to me the fact that Pacquiao is fighting Margarito is what matters. Size is probably an issue for Pacquiao, but he's also not that innocent in these matters as people make him out to be.

He is a real WW but just a small one. Roach said it himself that his fighter has grown into a small WW.

Nanny agreed to 50 50 with Hatton then demanded more at the last minute.

i dont get it.. you should look at it like pac is moving up. Its an imposition by margo not the other way around.. MArgo has the clear advantage. just because pacquiao is the bigger star he is trying to drain margo.. He is trying go up Margos weight in which margo is comfortable at, in which pacquiao hasnt boxed in the weight.. if it was pacquiao who was bigger and it would still be a catch weight you would still bash him because he wouldnt want to go down weight and make the other gain more..

margo is bigger, but slow as ****...a few pounds above 147 makes a huge difference for slow fighters.....his last fight was at 154 and hasn't fought at 147 in almost 2 years....roach is not stupid bro, he knows exactly what he's doing

He tells a lot of lies like that one, but why would he lie about dapidran finally becoming a small WW? This wasn't said during the build up of any fight.

Compare Floyd, who people consider a full fledged WW now, to emmanuel, and the size difference isn't that great:

Gay. I couldn't in good conscience whole heartedly support Pac if he fought 2 pounds above welter for a JrMW title. That's some straight up Danny Green style BS.

It's funny how you pick and choose when he lies and when he says the truth just so that it fits your agenda.

It is still better than fighting a career feather at welterweight.

Against Miguel Cotto you could understand a catch weight of 145 Cotto seemed healthy at that weight, but when you ask Margarito to come down like that to 149 after having a year off and moving up in weight obviously there is a reason they would ask for such a catch weight...

Margaritos size does not allow him to really flirt with the welter weight divison any longer as he is now getting a bit older... I wouldnt be surprised if they did request 149 that doesnt surprise me one bit, and I am not so sure we have the fight to be honest with you, rumors will fly in the gyms here in So cal and if Roach gets any indication that Margarito is 100% I expect the fight to come to a hault.....
