No. He lacked the chin, gas tank & grit to make it to the elite levels. Probably slightly above fridge contender level.

    Yes.

With a good pro trainer he would have been a beast with his size and skills.

No, he had problems with a couple of guys in the amateurs, no way he was going to dominate in the pros.

I think so. He had size and skill and a big punch. With a good manager and trainer he could have had his kinks ironed out and there are plenty of guys that he could beat that had good names. I mean, Bowe mostly feasted on lesser opposition and many say he is ATG so I don't see why not Teofilo.

The amateur version of Michael Dokes gave Stevenson trouble by just boxing, and throwing in some power here and there. But those were 3 round fights.

He could have been a good pro.

    Of course.

Size, athleticism, 1 punch power, great accuracy, great jab & right hand. Also was pretty defensively responsible & conservative, didn't waste punches really.

The big question mark obviously is his stamina past the amateur distance, but I doubt many guys would be lasting more than 3 rounds with him anyway. Great fighter and definitely had the potential to be an ATG pro.

Was Tony Tubbs a fridge contender, too?

    Hard to say

He was a pro fighting against ameteurs.

Throw him directily in with top 10 contenders and he probably would have been beaten.

Now, if he was turned pro at say 23 or 24 and slowly moved into 4,6,8,10 round fights he probably could have at least been a top 10 contender.
