Not too long ago I remembered seeing posts of fights being ordered or being close to finalized with Teofimo Lopez against the likes of Subriel Matias, Richardson Hitchins, and Devin Haney but none of those fights ended up materializing. Do you think Teo is ducking those 3 guys or is he just that difficult to negotiate with? For a guy that likes to keep talking about wanting to fight everyone and make "Boxing great again" he finds reasons to not make those fights happen.
Not sure if it's Teo (or his father) ducking or just the fact that they are loudmouths who talk straight nonsense all the time.
I genuinely think it's a case of him overvaluing himself. He thinks he's the best fighter on the planet after beating Loma and Taylor, so he thinks he can pick and choose his opponents like Canelo. Where he can duck deadly opponents like Shakur, Devin, and Subriel just because they aren't big names for his resume like a Boots Ennis or Terrence Crawford. HOWEVER the reality is, he himself isn't that big of a name compared to those guys he is ducking. The irony.
All these young guys are ducking each other. It’s ridiculous that Lopez, Tank, Shakur, Haney none of them have fought each other.
Yeahh I was a big fan of Teo when he beat Loma and Taylor. But after all his recent nonsense, I'm glad George beat his head in lol
You got to respect George at least he has fought Teo, Haney, Hitchins and Loma. Also Ryan Garcia has fought Tank and Haney. The rest of them are to worried about losing.
To be honest, I was surprised he took the Hitchins fight when he was at a major stylistic disadvantage while being the way smaller man. Teo will NEVER get anywhere near the ring with Hitchins.
George will fight anybody he might not be as talented as these other guys but he sure as hell has a lot more heart and will to have a crack.
Haney deserves some props too. Fought Kambo, Loma and Garcia and about to take on Norman. Prograis was a touch cookie as well. He's got the best resume out of the bunch win or lose.
