Did the British fans make the PBF VS Hatton fight more exciting than it really was?

I have watched this fight about 10 times now, but tonight I realized that the fight was amped up by the British fans who took over the MGM. I don't know how you ****ers do it, sing in unison with such cohesiveness. We don't have that kind of teamwork in the states, on some occasions we will even boo are own fighters against foriengers. Brits have the best fans in the world even though they sucked in the Paulie fight, I cant wait to hear them drawf the Phillapino's.

You have been owned so many times it's insane, now you go from PBF hating to Hatton hating, make up your ****ing mind you gumba. BTW illiterate should not even be in your vocabulary

Boxing is like an extension of soccer with the fans.
People follow a boxer like a fan in america might support the dallas cowboys or something..

Thats bollox, why do (Americans mainly) people compare English/British fans with 'soccer' fans (or claim that they are just 'soccer' fans watching boxing). Have you ever seen England fans at a cricket match? Here is a recent Darts match, just because they make a lot of noise dosent mean they are 'soccer' fans watching another sport. Stupid American stereotype! (not saying you're American but its mainly the Americans who claim this)

    Good call.
But many people follow both football and boxing. I was in vegas for calzaghe/Hopkins and the fans who showed up were often wearing their football team kits.. cardiff ,swansea ,etc :soccergr:

Agreed, I've said this a few times. The fight itself was not that interesting. Hatton hit a lot of air and elbows. Even when he got close he was outclassed inside. The fight got less and less competitive as the pace slowed. It felt inevitable.

The crowd built some tension and excitement, above what the fight delivered.

The Brits definitely played a huge roll in how casual fans perceived the fight. I watched the fight with a bunch of friends who were basically all casuals and they all rooted for our countryman Mayweather. They also never heard of Hatton so he automatically became "the bad guy." But upon hearing the tremendous pro England crowd support it was almost as though my friends began rooting against Hatton's fans more than they rooted against Hatton himself or more than they were cheering for Mayweather. It was like the crowd took on it's own character like the hotel in "The Shining". :yep
