Did the early rounds of Biggs v Tyson give us a clue to how Ali could beat Mike?

Biggs could move like Ali and couldn’t fight like him.

No Biggs did some odd shuffle in the first round and Leonard I remember said " it isn't time to be pretty in there" I think it was for that fight. I remember in round one or two Tyson landed a good body punch on Biggs which to me was the beginning of the end. Biggs needed more professional experience. I am not sure why they rushed him into Tyson.

Lol, a few punches by Tyson to the face and body and he sucked Ali out Biggs in a matter of a few minutes

I think its not a bad comparison to make, except for that Biggs was a bit of a glass cannon and Ali was much tougher. I think Biggs gave Tyson something to think about ... not for long, granted, but it was good while it lasted.

Biggs looked really good in there for a round. So did Tubbs, Tucker, Thomas, Holmes...

But yeah, Biggs showed us what it took to beat Tyson if someone could keep that up for 15 rounds.

Because like ALL Duva fighters Biggs had drug problems

Biggs did a good impression of late 70's Ali with the backpedling. At his best, Ali moved more in and out that just going backward in a circle. Biggs did have a decent jab & I definitely wouldn't say he wasn't tough. He took some serious shot. Tyson was really trying to break him down.

I think they rushed Biggs into the fight because they weren't sure he could stay undefeated. He had a rough fight against David Bey. They might've been concerned about his past with drugs.

Biggs moved nothing like Ali, Ali moved to set up his offense, Biggs movement was strictly for survival. Also, Duva and co realized Biggs career would probably be short lived because of his personal issues and got the most money they could by pushing him into the Tyson fight. Though he clearly didn't belong in the ring with Tyson.

I have The Ring magazine, or maybe it's KO, that claimed Tyson-Biggs was the Ali-Frazier of the 80's. Forgot who wrote it but he claimed both Tyson and Biggs were bigger and stronger, somewhat amped up and more evolved versions of Ali and Frazier.

I'll find it and post the article if it's cool with the OP...?

Tyson's fights with Douglas and Holyfield gave us a good idea of how he'd fare with Ali.

maybe so but Biggs was not ready. Probably Biggs was never ready for Tyson. He had good jab and an ok right.

Biggs always looked a real athlete , but strangely never seemed to have the stamina needed to stick and move. He had all the stick and all the move , just not the stamina to keep it up for long enough for it to win him fights against the top guys.
