Of course it did. I think people should remember that Vasquez quit when he couldn't breathe properly because of a broken nose, while people label Cotto a quitter even though he fought on.

most of the time, when you break your nose, you lose the ability to breath properly....Im going to refrain from calling you an idiot and ill stick to saying: yes it did affect him

From what I read, Cotto's nose wasn't broken. He was bleeding heavily from the nose which in turn affected his breathing. I do believe that had a lot to do with the loss, but not taking away from Margarito's win.

that really ****ed with his defense and around Margarito you need to be 100% at all times. Cotto should've used more footwork and head movement instead of making it a battle and the outcome would've been very different. But when you're nose is bleeding and you have cuts and swelling, you feel like you have a pounding fever and it's very hard to keep going at the pace you started.

For me damage suffered from legitimate punches in a fight isn't an excuse for a loss - it's a legitimate part for the fight analysis.

Yes it did affect him and credit to Margarito for causing it with a good punch.

Exactly. Perfectly said, D. It's not like Cotto tripped and broke his nose on the way to the ring, yet still went through with the fight. Margarito punched Cotto in the nose until it broke. That's what fighting is, people, doing damage to a face or body using your fists.

  14. Yes of course it did but what do you expect it was a fight people get hurt, Margo is the bigger, stronger, better fighter and it clearly showed that night..

Any fighter with a fractured nose would be affected, it would have affected Cotto, would it have changed the outcome? Probably not
