Did the NBA sanction Dempsey-Carpentier?

    i have always seen that the dempsey-carpentier fight was the first bout sanctioned by the nba (now the wba) but from the articles below, i'm not sure if this is true. the nba said that ticket prices were going to be too high and that they'd kick new jersey out from the nba if they didn't change. new jersey then claimed that they were never part of the nba in the first place. i see the nba does recognize dempsey as champion in an 1925 article but i can't find any proof that the nba sanctioned the fight vs carpentier. any help here would be much appreciated.
