In the 11th round, Inoue landed a bodyshot and Donaire started running away. The ref stepped in front of Inoue and stopped him from chasing Donaire, allowing Donaire to get away and drop down to his knee.

Knowing Inoue, he would have probably landed a vicious left hook and knocked Donaire into oblivion if he was allowed to follow up.

I've seen this happen many times where the hurt fighter starts to back peddling and the ref allow the fight to keep going. I feel like the ref prevented Inoue from getting a KO win.

The body shot happened at 11:38.

That was a hell of a body shot that's all I know, and Donaire getting up showed how great he is.

That's veteran smarts, running behind the ref to avoid follow up shots.

i imagine stepping behind a ref after a standing eight count would give the fighter a couple of extra seconds.

I have a problem with the ref only because he should have either disqualified Donaire for turning his back and running or he should have counted him out. That was a KO by The Monster. I guess it doesn't matter because Inoue KHTFO in their second fight.

Nonito ran behind the ref like a little child who'd stolen something. Inoue was in kill mode and he wanted to finish him. He should've shoved the ref out the way and beat Nonito like a dog

By doing that jogging act Donaire got a ton more time to recover from that shot than he should have done. A full twenty seconds in fact.

No matter. The rematch netted Inoue the KO he deserved.

Yes, the ref prevented a vicious KO by the Monster.

Absolutely. I also firmly believe Donaire stood up just past the ref's count of 10.

    Great last two rounds though.
