Great shot, and Frampton would have almost certainly gone on to stop him. However, did the referee skip 9?
I counted 12 seconds from Hugo hitting the canvas to the referee waving it off. Good stoppage, nothing to see here. :hi:
The count looked OK to me at the time but the reaction of the fighter would indicate that it was stopped 1 sec early at least.
I counted from the moment he hit the canvas and to when the ref waved it off. i counted to 12. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the count and I suggest anyone with a problem should rewatch the fight with a stopwatch and time the count. it was spot on.
Nope the guy still didn't get off the floor after the count was administered Now if it was like Chisora vs Scott where the ref started his count @ 4 and finished @ 9 then maybe I'd say it was premature but Caz was too busy smiling at Carl than actually listening to the count If u watch the way he goes down he goes down hard, he's prob not been hit like that in years
and the ref didnt skip nine if you listen his voice he clearly shouts 'nine'. The confusion arises because the ref didn't hold nine fingers up at nine, but thats a moot point because the ref DID count 9 and Casares had 12 seconds to get up but failed.
Cazares on Frampton: "I've never been hit so hard in my life.I thought I was counting down in my head but I couldn't get to the next number""
Cazares never wanted to get up. Victor Loughlin was clearly telling Cazares the count with his fingers and at 8 Cazarez looks away and it was only when Vic waved it off at 10 Cazares got up.
Counting is tricky.....I must've been at least, what, 3 before I got the hang of it. Keep practicing...youll get the hang of it eventually.
