At the scene it reports that Chavez has to face Martinez after Manfredo. Sulaiman says that the Rubio-Lemieux fight was not sanctioned as a final eliminator and therefore Rubio is not the mandatory challenger.

So does this mean Rubio paid a fee to become a number one contender who now will have to fight an eliminator before he gets a title shot?

Looks like he got done dirty this time. Hopefully he gets his shot. If not, this is a worthwhile lawsuit.

    He got the shaft!

    Honestly I don't understand why?
    Jr. can take him, IMO.

Would make for a better fight than against Manfredo.
(& give Chavez some credibility @ the same time)

I think so. Rubio deserves the shot.

Slimy mother****ers. Could have sworn being ranked one makes you number one contender. I'm surprised they didn't make a belt for contendership

That's ****ing disgraceful. Rubio has one last chance to have a tilt at a belt and sillyman screws him out of it. What a slimy sport this is at times. The mother****er has earned his shot and will give an exciting fight so what the ****s the problem? Fat old *******s choking this sport. It's a ****ing disgrace!!!!!!

Those alfabets make me sick sometimes.
I hope Rubio sues the WBC and gets a verdict like (I think it was) Tiozzo. Serves them well.
