I came across this article earlier and a lot of it seems like Tyson hating as usual.

The writer points out that Tyson and Holyfield fought before, during the amateurs? is there any truth to this, i have Tysons autobiography and theres no mention of this.

Considering the rest of the article seems biased, i took it with a pinch of salt, but can anyone provide any light on the matter?

I know him and Lennox sparred when they were kids.

I dont think so, Holyfield was in the 178 pound class, and Tyson was in the 201-pound class.

    They may have sparred.

    Xpert article :thumbsup

To win VS Tyson you have to not be intimidated And afraid like E.G Spinks who **** himself. if you not afraid And you stand-up to him And FIGHT you WIN! Douglas was teh 1st man who was not afraid And Holyfeild was teh 2nd - Lennox was teh 3rd ETC.

That doesnt answer my ****ing question and is totally irrelevant to my thread

the first man not afraid of Tyson was not Buster Douglas
Berbick wasnt afraid of him, nor was Ribalta, nor was Tubbs, Or Carl Williams, or Bruno, Or Larry Holmes

Im not going to go through all of Tysons opponents for u, however, ill tell you what, Mike Spinks was visibly scared. The rest seemed fine...until they got punched.

Bonecrusher fought scared throughout the fight, but can u blame him after what Tyson did in the fight before?

So no Buster Douglas wasnt the first, he wasnt even the twentieth.

They never sparred or fought. The only early story with these two is they were at the trials and Holyfield was playing pool with some friends. Tyson came over and snatched the stick out of Holyfields hand and said he was playing. Holyfield got up in his face and took the stick back and Tyson walked away.

Never knew that, interesting. Tyson was a bit of an a-hole outside the ring. have you read his biography by Peter Heller? Tyson was no angel.

Do you know anything about Bowe and Tyson, aparently they were from the same hood and mutually accepted never to fight each other. Do you know if they hung out or anything or ever had any altercations, called each other out etc?
Tysons biography states that Rock Newman tried to get Tyson to fight Bowe, they were trying to get the deal done while Tyson was still in prison. Bowe also dedicated one of his Holyfield fights to Tyson apprently

Bowe knew tyson when they where younger..when they asked bowe about it on hbo he just said that you never knew how tyson was going to be, so you just steered clear of him....made it sound like he was just a bit afraid of mike..of course he would have been younger...so that makes sense.
