No but the list of excuses from Donkey and many of his fans is. Donkey's speaking like a man who knows he lost and so are they.
NO it wasn’t,if you pay close attention the Ref was well on the ball, turning to the guy who’s job it is to count and taking his count from there on three seconds I believe? Imo all the talk of the count stemmed from the fact that Fury wasn’t supposed to get up from that,he was totally spread eagled on the canvas and quite how such a big man gets up in a few seconds is beyond me and everyone else it would seem. One last point re Refs giving time, how Wilder and team have the cheek to bring up this after the Ortiz fight is beyond me as Wilder was badly hurt against Ortiz and looked very shaky and after getting up from his stool the Ref took ages farting around with Wilder thus giving him time to come to his senses. Course there may of not been any intention by the Ref to buy Wilder some time but by the same token he shouldn’t of brought this up in this fight as the Ref did superbly well not to **** up a great fight imo.
Great handling of the count and situation. It’s not controversial, but counting him out on that would have been.
Great Ref imo, such an enormous fight like this, last thing we wanna be talking about is an inept Ref and bar Wilders idiotic quotes about time nobody would of even noticed the Ref which is how it should be. Funny how just one second can make such a big difference lol
The count wasn't long but I thought the referee gave Fury too much time between getting up and resuming the fight This content is protected
Exactly and a lesser Ref may of wilted instead of doing it by the book, checking Furys condition and letting the fight come to its conclusion. Some may think it was robbery but two 10/8 rounds and getting the nod in two more close rounds gives us the perfect rematch imo.
It was a Ten count. Not a Ten second count. Was it long, no not really. Was it a quick count, again no not really. The history of the sport has had this going on for many many years and there will always be these questions. Some fighters that have been knocked down and lost, have complained the ref counted too quick... Where does all this controversy end? Personally I thought the ref got it spot on and deserves massive respect for how he handled the fight.
The count wasn't long. The ref told both fighters in the dressing room that he'd ask them to take steps to the left and right to ensure they were ok to continue and that he'd give them every chance. Wilder has confirmed this. How come he can accept this and you can't? Also it's very rare that a fighter gets less than about 15 seconds in total these days by the time the ref has checked them over.
So... did the ref inform both parties that in the event of one of them being knocked unconscious to the point where only the white's of their eyes are showing, he will give them a 6-7 second nap before he begins his count?
Can you link me to the video where you're seeing a 6 second gap. I've just watched3 videos on YouTube and counted in my head from the moment Fury hits the deck. I reached five before the ref started counting from four over Fury. So at worst, he was a second late. Remember there's a guy outside of the ring counting from the moment a fighter hits the ground so the ref can resume his count once he's made sure the aggressor is in a neutral corner.
My appologies if its a repost. I haven't seen an actual poll yet. I watched it several times and i say he beat the count. Being surrounded by wilder fans in the areana it was a big "The Gypsy King is baaaack!!!"
Yeah, he definitely made it.... Should of had longer too since Wilder left the neutral corner to dance... what a muppet he is lol
He definitely didn't At 9 seconds after the delayed count, he is standing up, and hasn't put his gloves up as of yet. An impartial referee without politics and affection running riot in the back of their mind, waves the fight off at that exact moment. No one can justify the molly coddling and outright stalling the ref gives fury so he can recover.
