    Does anybody agree with this.

If Tyson hadnt gone to prison,. more than likely he would have fought Holyfield for the title after the Ruddock fights.

That leaves Bowe without a dance partner.

Would Lewis still fight Ruddock (who was really a replacement for Tyson in the mini tournament) or would he and Bowe come to an agreement to fight?

Holyfield would fight Tyson. Lewis and Bowe would probably have been locked out if Tyson won. If Holyfield would have beaten Tyson, he probably would have chosen Bowe over Lewis and the same scenario would have played out. Tyson would have been right in the mix though to fight for a mandatory spot even with a loss to Holyfield because that would have been Kings best chance so its conceiveable Tyson fights Lewis for the mandatory shot if he lost to Holyfield.

A bit off subject but I remember reading Bill Cayton had a plan for Tyson and Tommy Morrison to face each other if Tyson beat Holy and Morrison got by Foreman.

Cayton managed Morrison his entire career, but he was long gone by this time. Tyson dumped Cayton after the Spinks fight.

If Tyson fought Holyfield...win or lose, u know there would have been a rematch, most likely an immediate one.

That would still leave Bowe and Lewis free to mingle with each other. Ruddock would not have been so highly touted then

Although Cayton still had 20% over Tyson until early 1992 his dream was to pit Morrison against Tyson. And had Tyson fought Holy as planned I think Bowe had a better chance at meeting Ruddock before facing Lewis.

Either would Lewis. People forget how unknown he was before the Ruddock fight.

I doubt Newman or Maloney would throw their men in for a none title fight. Lewis still probably fights Rudduck, Newman would be fishing for a title shot

Tyson-Holy likely would have been a 2 or 3 fight series. Still this would happen in the period Holyfield fought Foreman/Cooper/Holmes. I think Holyfield wins so that part of history doesn't change, however when Lewis wins the WBC and Bowe the other titles Bowe or Lewis likely face Tyson.

But if Tyson wins he probably faces Foreman maybe a soft touch and then Bowe (Holmes/Cooper doen't make sense in this case). I think Tyson beats Bowe, which only leaves a Lewis fight

Either way that would have been amazing

    This :good

I always maintain that Tysons Legacy defining fights would have taken place in 92/92/94, specifically with Bowe, Holyfield & Lewis.....And god dammit i would have loved to see mike face that opposition in that time!!

Actually, thats true, Lewis would not have figured into the plans.

Bowe may have gone after Ruddock, but then who could Lewis have gone to? Could we have seen Lewis Vs Foreman?

yes, but this also would have affected the holyfield-bowe fights immensely. i honestly would prefer three great wars to a possible snooze fest.

Thats true, but if Lewis had boxed cautiously and it was a snooze fest, i dont think Bowe would be too badly affected
