People can question Tyson’s pain threshold after being tagged with Lennox Lewis’s honey punch for eight rounds, and having their neck folded in half by the impact during the process. Ridiculous, I remember this thread a while ago and thought the same. There plenty of stuff to call Tyson out on, why that, his saving grace was taking his punishment like a man, why do you want to take that away from a fighter by calling him a p-u-s-s-y for shouting out a couple of times while taking a beating? discraceful

Its the Lenni nut hugging brigade. They will try every trick in the book to divert attention from the fact that their chinny girl got starched like an over protected girl via one big shot to the face, not once but twice.

it is a bit double standards when talking about how tough fighters are, Tyson might have shouted out a few times but it took a sustained beating to get him out of there. The corpse of Tyson took Lennox 8 rounds to put away. yet people single Tyson out as the wimp who has a low pain threshold .

I am no hater of Lewis but Mike really gets tagged with the bully folding tagline, now its the crying bully :patsch

I know, because it isn't, and never was, true.

It was fabricated in order to make it look like Tyson had come from behind (well behind according to the fabrication) and dealt with adversity to win in this case.

He didn't, certainly in this case.

Not really, listen to larry merchants commentary at the end of round 4, he clearly states so far it is tucker who is dictating the pace of this fight

Again.....all fighters have flaws no matter how great. Tyson had all the physical capabilities. He was fast, punched very hard etc. His Achilles heel was between his ears. That was HIS major flaw. He did great controlling the action, leading and bullying his opponent. He did terribly when he was faced with adversity, when things did not go his way, when he was losing, when his opponent did not fold but instead came after him disrupting his pattern.

If you talk with 10 good trainers who knew Tyson they would tell you pretty much the same thing. Front runner....bully mentality.

Do you take us for idiots?

Merchant had the fight at 2 rounds a piece on his card, which was there for all to see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Merchant also gave Tyson the 5th round to put him ahead after 5!!!!!!

One can dictate the pace of a fight and not win a round.

You need to run away from this Tucker won the first 4 rounds fabrication.

The old bully line, :patsch there is plenty of evidence around Tyson's career that shows he was more than just a bully. apart from beating guys that had all the physical advantages over him.

I think his pain threshold isn't great. He failed a drug test for pot, which is illegal in boxing because it reduces pain, and cried like a baby in the Lewis fight in his corner prior to the stoppage. Later in his career, he quit, but before he did he wanted the ref to help him get up during the action.

In most of his fights, Tyson's intangibles were not tested. But those who stood up to him with ability often beat him.

I won't call the Klitshko fight a TKO, the ring doctors stopped the fight while Klits was ready to fight on, the way Lenni back to his stool at the end of round 6, he was completely gassed after having thrown the entire kitchen sink, his punches did not have any sting at the end of round 6. I don't think he had anything to put Vitali away with in the next few rounds, the smile and look of relief on his face when they called the fight off said it all.
