    Platform shoes do absorb shock, it a fact, here a example -

    This content is protected


    Nike Airmax absorb teh most shock from impacts, cos they have raised platform sole And a air bubble!

    Tyson would of wore Airmax if they were invented in teh 1980s! :yep

    Airmax started in 1987, but that was a bit late for Tyson - after he fought Smith, Berbick, Ribalta, Ferguson .... he needed the special shoes for those guys.

    I don't think Nike Airmax would work as well as the platforms he wore though. I mean, with a real glass chin like Mikey had, he needed the special boots. They were some heavy-duty soles.

    Tyson had no chin, he was all neck and cushioned feet !

    lennox lewis and the word iron chin dont belong in the same sentence he was twice knocked out with a single shot by fighters not noted as big punchers :-(

    Bouncing on to the punch and getting your neck twisted at that angle is bad news. It would knock 99% of fighters out cold.

    Even Ali barely survived the Cooper knockdown because he didn't see the punch. It happens sometimes....
