Did Vernon Forrest stop Mosley from being a truly great fighter?

    I mean you take away the Forrest losses and you have a hell of a career where the only defeats are against Winky at 154, with the 2nd one being very close and a slightly controversial loss to Cotto when Mosley was well past it.

    2 wins over Oscar and 2 wins over Vargas and his domiating runs at lightweight and welterweight.

    Mosley is already a great fighter by many people's standards but i mean great as in up there with the Haglers, Hearns, etc...

    I would have to say yes. That headbutt followed by the overhand right hand and then brutal uppercut did permanent damage to Shane Mosley. Not Fernando Vargas type damage, but something thereabouts. He was never going to be the same after that. His nervous system got shattered in that moment. The results would slowly and randomly creep in over the years.
