Yes he did. It was clear he was getting desperate anyway. The headbutts were as amateurish as anything I've seen before and he knew he had no hope.

Couldn't handle it when Floyd played the same game? The same game would have been to headbutt him back or give him a pop in the nuts. What Floyd did was throw the 2 worst sucker punches in boxing history outside Michael Grant in the early 2000s. Floyd should have been thrown in jail again and fight ruled a no contest.

 

i think he could have gotten up but the punch did legitmately hurt him... lets not forget he was starting to go in the 4th round. floyd the guy renowned for taking the safe road and potshotting was opening up massively with combinations ... thats strange in itself but in the 4th ****ing round!!!? but the ref called time in? how is that worthy of jail time ? i think your letting your emotions get the better of you here... floyd did not hit on the break... mosley tried talking to him mid round aswell and floyd threw punches at him? is it cheap? no.. times in ... floyds there to fight and put on a show... i did not pay for the ppv to watch grown men talk it out in the ring (let alone hug and kiss).

we all hated the pacquiao mosley fight because mosley was doing nothing but touching gloves and hugging every ****ing 10 seconds... it ruined the whole ****ing fight... we dont want that..

If Victor Ortiz quit against FMJ, he sure picked a hell of a way of quitting!! I personally don't think he quit. I just think he got frustrated and lost his concentration up until the sucker punch.

As far as the sucker punch is concerned, I put the blame on all three of them. I blame FMJ for sucker punching Ortiz. Pretty classless and unsportsmanlike manner in which to chalk up the "W". I blame Ortiz for not paying heed to one of boxing most important rules, which is to "PROTECT yourself at ALL times." And finally, I blame Cortez for not paying attention to the fighters and trying to yap at the judges or whoever it was that he was trying to talk to.
