No mate, that would have been a disgraceful weight for Adamek. Here is the weigh-in: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2cBQTcuHbrs
Thats still 8 pounds more than what he should weigh...hes not gaining any power hes just tarnishing his speed....If you're going to do that might as well go fight at 216 max
Adamek wasn't ruined by Vitali. He is a boxer who started fighting at LHW and fights now at HW, he is old and he has been in a few fights. Of course he is getting worse and even that doesn't change the fact that Cunningham was always the better boxer Adamek just had a different style in the first fight and Cunningham hadn't the best stragety. I believe Adamek's chin isn't as good as it once was and he is getting slower which isn't a good thing for a boxer coming up from lower weight classes without huge power.
A few reasons as to why Adamek didnt look great in his last fight. Age Quantity of fights(some were tough) Weight And IMO it looked to me his game plan was nothing more than to KO Steve. He should stick to coming in around 215 and throw loads of combos like he has in the past.
atsch The only thing that got exposed is the fact that Adamek cannot beat a dominant HOF HW who is about 6 weight classes bigger than him. How do you get exposed after being a 2 weight champ with nearly 50 fights under your belt? He is flat out not big enough for the HW division yet can still beat top 10 fighters.
Adamek was never that good at heavyweight, I'd much rather have seen him maintain a 200lbs physique. I think Adameks constant bloating is what ruined him. Last few fights I've seen of him he's just looked very lethargic.
