Did Ward Cheat In His Bout With Kessler?

5 unintentional headbutts and punching in the clinch...... this is all I have read. I havent seen the fight yet so will reserve judgement.

Andre Ward is a cheat. I cant believe he got away with it. The sad thing is being dirty pays off i this sport, we have seen it many times with b-hop

 

No doubt at all he cheated ... did it win him the fight? - hard to say, but most likely he could have won without the cheating.

No mater what, it's the refs job to stop it - not Wards.

 

Yes but World Champion Mikkel Kessler should have been able 2 deal with it. Learn 2 adapt, fight fire with fire

 

If there are that many unintentional headbutts and they look that fishy they can't be labeled as unintentional, it's as simple as that.

Kessler got outclassed and thats all there is to it.

 

I remember just how much **** Hatton got for low blowing Tszyu after being on the receiving end of two or three himself.

I wonder if Kessler would have been labelled a cheat as well as over rated.

 

Damn straight if your opponents cheating why would you just stand there & take it? Like people keep saying (& was demonstrated last night) this **** happens so it is a part of boxing, the difference between amateur & pro and you either do something about it or lose.

 

Kessler got his arse whooped, he was beaten to the punch the entire fight.

 

Technically yes Ward cheated and the ref should've spoken to him about the constant holding but Kessler is a big strong experienced world champ who showed no versatility or ability to play Ward at his own game. If someone is roughing you up on the inside and getting away with it, the if you are supposed to be a top champ you should be able to fight fire with fire

 

Agreed, but some of his tactics were suspect and can't just be ignored just because he thoroughly beat his opponent.
