The weight is no issue anymore. The size is no issue anymore. If you are prepared physically and mentally, then it's an even playing field.

Marquez is strong. Marquez is fast. But he's smart. You can never count out Marquez in this fight.

The weight was not an issue, and the size was not an issue. The speed and the talent on the other hand were an issue.

They are an issue. Floyd was 20 pounds heavier and Marquez was slow at welterweight.

The weight and the size were an issue. If the weight was not going to be an issue then PBF would've made weight.

yes cos the size gained didnt slow JMM down at all, nor throw his timing off, or made his punches appear weaker. Of course size matters...only people whos never boxed before will say otherwise.

Most felt that if he could carry his speed, movement, and power that he had at 126-130 he would do good. Even though these things were lacking at 135, I felt they had plenty of time to work on these things and try to get it right. Unfortunately Juans best days were left at 130, and he maxed at 135 where he was a very good fighter but not great.. It's all good, even May said this was a tuneup so bring on the Main Event.

Marquez fights textbook-style, so the weight and size disparity were much more pronounced because he will always stay within the envelope, punches delivered from proper angles, never getting out of balance. He couldn't create an offensive situation where Floyd wouldn't know where his next punch would come from.

Well I took second place in the New York Golden Gloves at light heavyweight, so I have fought before, infact I have a pritty good idea what I am talking about.

I did not say that size does not matter, but it was not the deciding factor in this fight.

Floyd did not beat Marquez because of his size. He beat him because of his speed offensively and deffensively. I know you think you know what your talking about, and you are entitled to your opinion, but you are wrong. Do you think that you know more about boxing than Juan Manuel Marquez, or Nacho Beristain? Because they agreed to fight Mayweather, and they knew after the weigh in that Mayweather weighed 2lbs more than Marquez, and they still fought him.

You must be kidding. Floyd could have knocked out Marquez after the 2nd round but he preferred to hold back. There is no question that Floyd is more skilled and faster because he is a natural welterweight. But the new weight of Marquez and the apparent disparity have slowed him and made this fight a monumental mismatch.

dmoney (love the handle, very original), why dont you take a cue from the 2 guys you refered to and listen to what they say. the most confident comment they made leading up to the fight was "we are going into this fight with the illusion of winning". figure out what that means and then ask yourself why they took this fight.

Floyd said before the fight that when he puts somone down he finishes them. So if he could have finished Marquez after two why wouldn't he?

Marquez challenge Mayweather, he is a warrior, and I do not think that he would go into a fight thinking that he was going to lose.

I guess I posted on this thread with the "illusion" that some people might be able to put there egos aside and acctually look at how the fight played out.
