I have enough understanding from what i saw with my own eyes, even forgetting the knockdown/knockout, you would need to be a total thicko to not notice the difference in Peterson last night compared to him the night of the Khan fight, a totally different animal Whatever he was on the night of the Khan fight, he wasn't on for this fight, simple as that.
Triple posts? Deary me. Did you even watch the Holt fight? Peterson looked tremendous. Matthysse has nearly a 90% KO Ratio, its not to be sniffed at. The bloke can dig. He will KO Garcia if Garcia comes in for a Khan type of fight. Matthysse thrives in toe to toe, his only two "losses" have come when the opponent has boxed to a plan for 12 rounds. Peterson said he planned on not getting hit this fight. I guess it didn't go to plan. Peterson didnt look to good, to me he looked like a fighter who had burnt himself out in the gym, he didnt have anything in the legs IMO. He looked weak from the first bell.
This is what you said..... You would need to be a total thicko to just assume this was Peterson's first fight since the Khan fight. I said it earlier, I'll say it again. Against Holt he looked tremendous. Did he test for PED's? No. Matthysse is probably, no in fact he is, P4P hardest puncher at the top level today. 88% KO ratio. Thats just ridiculous. Mattysse is a good, good fighter. This was no bum. A good fighter, beat another good fighter, simple as that. If you actually look at the big knockdown, you'll see most of the damage was done after the back of Peterson's head bounced hard of the canvas. The lights were on but there was nobody home. I think its about time you start giving the winner credit. Peterson is a game fighter.
Peterson has been shakey early in the Ortiz and Khan fights, against Holt he started slow aswell The guy is vulnerable early he basically got stopped before he could get going, ped's wouldnt have made a difference im still suprised he even got up from that left hook and there was no testing for this fight
Obviously no bum, but I don't see Lamont as remotely special either, just hazily in-between where it's far more opponent-dependent than any given world-class fighter. I do believe he took some sort or degree of banned stuff contrary to the PR bull****. Add that, for example, to my scoring a slight Khan win a year and half ago, if he needed such a gift on top of the cheating then that's beyond pathetic. And for those reasons I'm fine with his current status as a broken stomping-stone ibutt) on Lucas' path to greatness...bring on Garcia, baby! :happy
