ROBERT never sounds butt hurt over this, and i know danny's had him for a few years, but that's not my point....

maybe i am looking too much into this, but it just rubbed me the wrong way when your in a two month camp, about to make millions, yet you go against your coach's word...that's it

You are looking too much into it Freddy, Margarito did the same thing before his fight with Pac about the same time out from the fight to.
and if anybody should not have Tony should not have as that was likely his last chance well he now has another shot at Cotto but still Ortiz is young enough that even if this is a mistake and it cost him he can still bounce back.

Reality is if you watched the show Danny didnt really want him to take that one day off, But did say he has looked good in sparring and in the gym and has been putting in hard work.

eh, guess you're right....when margo did it, it never rubbed me the wrong way cause he's a vet, and is always in shape and has never quit.....

vic on the other hand is a different story, but more importantly he's young and already has a blemish on him, so bouncing back at this time has nothing to do with age imo, since he's barely winning the boxing world back.....:good

Look at it this way the kid has faced 33 all have hit the floor in terms of experience he has fought

    Campbell
    Peterson
    Diaz
    Berto
    Harris
    Maussa

This is not exactly a bad record for the kid Sure he has the Maidana quittage but come on I look at that the way I do Cottos quitting over Margarito or the way Vazquez quit against Marquez

Why is that? Those fighters didnt really quit they had it beaten out of them and thats the truth.....
Mayweathers in activity may **** around and haunt him in this fight becuase weather we like to admit it or not Floyd has never faced anything like this kid to date

When is the last time he fought a young welter weight like this?

Whens the last time he faced a welter who put every man he faced on the deck?

there are some variables here and I know the Majority write off this kid fine so be it but I like this kids chances here

do you nor think this could be hype for the fight.

24/7 goes out of its way to try and make you think a fights going to be closer than it is.

Remember the hatton fight Mayweather was getting xrays to his ravaged body!(think he had leprecy) and hatton was fighting fit.

bookies cashed in after that one.

A fighter knows his body and mental state BETTER than ANYONE, so if Vic feels it's NEEDED, it's NEEDED. He's the one that has to fight, NOT Danny. Look how often a trainer tells a guy to do something in a fight and the guy does something else? Hell, how many times does a trainer give the WRONG advice? It's like a trainer sayin', "this guy can't hurt you" and the fighter's the one FEELING the pain? I think as fine a trainer as he IS, Robert's a little jealous of Vic, and so is Rios. Danny WISHES he still had Vic and he was making a 2.5m dollar payday. Rios said, vic should thank Floyd everyday, for giving him his biggest payday, DUH, who WOULDN'T? Wouldn't HE? What a DUMB thing to say, Rios. Believe me, I've trained fighters for years and if a guy tells his coach, he's hurt or something and can't train and his coach takes that, 'I don't care, we have to train', how much respect is he gonna' have for his coach?

I think your reading too much into to what Robert says in response to negative issues. Robert also said Ortiz trains like an animal. So...

Danny never told him no. He even went with him. In fact, Danny embraced the idea of taking a day off from hard work. It doesn't matter if Victor came up with the idea.

Very true, I was going to make that point also. What leads me to believe Vic knows his body pretty well is that he was able to make 140 without really killikng himself. His performance probably suffered but he was not hurting himself.

i dont know brotha , there was this swoll older man in the gym one time so i aked him his secrets , he says the main thing is to listen to your body , i didnt know what he meant at the time but recently ive begun to understand you body warns you against over training , with the way your muscles , mood and energy level are affected , i think victor knows his body and is doing good not to overtrain , thats a smart move

Well Victor is literally a tree, bro.......everyone knows you can't talk sense into a tree. Besides, Hearns took a day off to go fishing preparing for Hagler and he turned out alright......oh wait.
