judging by their last run of opponents, its wilder who was more likely to have ducked, seeing as his best effort was a 38/40something guy, preceded by a string of nohopers. in migitation, he did sign fr povetkin who would have been a credible defence had he not been a drug cheat. Wlad in comparison faced two opponents who were at least "fairly good", although that was preceded by a string of nohopers too. Its quite possible they ducked each othe and didnt realise the other was doing it too. Wilder is just becoming the American Klitschko, to be fair.
I don't remember them ever being scheduled to fight. That said, I guess Wilder could have fought Wlad anytime e wanted by putting the WBC belt on the line. Klitschko already beat the snot out of him in sparring ... we all know how it would have gone.
People have forgotten and overused the boxing term “duck” and what it truly means. But if you ask me they simply are like the OP. They just don’t know!
I don't remember that fight ever really being on the table had wlad got by fury or Joshua it probably would have been made say what you want about wlad outside of vitale he basically beat every top guy available during his reign
I wouldn't say he ducked him, like people are saying the fight wasn't ever really talked about. Would of loved it to of happend though..im a big fan of Wilder but i think Kiltschko Knocks him out
my guess is it worked this way initially wlad ducked wilder to avoid losing his title, then when he'd lost it, wilder ducked wlad because wlad was still a fair handful of an opponent for a title defence, and wilder wants the easiest fights possible. wlad probably would be ok with facing wilder once he'd lost his titles and had nothing to lose, but wilder would remain uninterested seeing as wlad was quite skilled defensively.
