What skill? He was out-boxed for most of the fight. His jab is awful, his footwork was so so, his usual wild self throwing punches. He seems to be very slow to work out his opponents that aren't cans, setting traps etc. His attacks are quite basic and he's over reliant on the power.

No, Wilder isn't a skilled boxer, but he has punch, stamina and surprisingly iron chin. But this fight has convinced me, that all words about how Wilder would have beat great boxes from past is completely bull****. Especially against Tyson (in his prime of course), if he was outboxed by Ortiz for the whole fight, who was certainly slower, shorter and had smaller gas tank, so Tyson would have finished Wilder off in 4-7 rounds

Skill wise? No....but he impressed me with his heart, determination, resolve and of course, power. Look....Wilder isn’t a polished pugilist. He’s very raw and has a lot of flaws. But he’s a winner. He has the mentality of a real fighter. Even when he was hurt and in trouble, I believe him when he said he wasn’t worried.

He has the great equalizer which is that rangy power that can turn things around in an instance. Can he beat Joshua? I don’t think so....not if it’s a straight up boxing match where it goes 12....but Wilder has the kind of power where you can’t count him out. Deontay is a lot more durable than I thought.

I was worried he was about to get stopped but he kept his composure and stuck to his game plan which I questioned because he was giving up a lot of the early rounds. Wilder is without question the 2nd or 3rd beat heavyweight right now. Behind only Joshua and Tyson Fury.

This 'greatest athlete of all time' nonsense....

Why is he getting outworked and 'outwalked' by Ortiz?

Are you for real? Wilders chin wont hold up against none of the punchers in the division. Before this fight I had Hughie Fury clearly knocking him out. Now Wilder made me rethink that so I changed it to Hughie Fury UD.

That's the new rating of Wilder's chin:

    Hughie Fury UD.

He is technically one of the worst heavyweight champions i think ive ever seen, but his power and resolve should not be questioned.

I still think the Wlad that fought AJ would decapitate him due to styles but I do think Wilder beats AJ.

Not a bad fight at all tonight.
