According to Rafael, Goosen now says Paul Williams will not fight Pavlik unless it's 50/50 all the way. Williams/Martinez drew 2927 fans at the gate. Pavlik could sell out the main room at Boardwalk Hall fighting my grandmother, and she's been dead since '74, but in Goosen's mind the deal should be 50/50.

I do not blame Goosen one bit for saying they'd ask for some up front money. That seems reasonable. Put $500K in escrow. If Pav pulled out, give it to Williams/Goosen. If the fight comes off, the escrow money goes back in the pot. That seems fair. Asking for a 50/50 split when you're guy couldn't sell 3000 tickets seems silly.

I agree with you on this, but Williams team will think they are more of a draw after this fight.

williams/martinez didn't derail a pavlik/williams fight, kelly pavlik's "staph infection" did. seriously fukk kelly pavlik. paul doesn't need him. paul can rematch martinez, go down fight clottey, clean out 154. what's pavlik gonna do?...he aint got no options except picking on tomato cans like he always does. if he fights somebody good he'll just get exposed again. let pavlik fight bute and just watch what happens.

I think that Pavlik planned a career threatening infection, two surgeries, a five day stay in the hospital, and the loss of millions of dollars through inactivety, and he did it all just to avoid a guy who loses to fighters like Quintana and Martinez.

career threatening infection, two surgeries, five day stay at the hospital....and he's fighting....two weeks later. all to avoid a guy who yes, lost to quintana and ARGUABLY lose to martinez. pavlik is a joke.

Pavlik is only fighting to avoid being stripped. There is a huge difference between fighting a guy you can beat with one good hand, and fighting Paul Williams. Do you even follow boxing **** for brains?

kelly pavlik was on his "death bed" because of this infection. and if you knew anything you would know a staph infection affects the entire body. so if he's not fully healed he shouldn't be getting in that ring with ANYBODY. do you even follow logic **** for brains?

If you had learned to read, you probably would have picked up the fact that Pavlik isn't infected any more. He just couldn't close his fist until a couple of weeks ago, which isn't enough time for a training camp to fight PW (but it might just be enough to fight a can two weeks later).

Blinders seem mandatory to keep ESB going it seems. It really isn't too hard to figure out the facts when presented. Most seem to not want too. I guess if that makes them feel better...

After what I saw last night, I'm changing my prediction.

Kelly KO's PW within 3 rounds. The guy is a dope who is as ez to hit as a barn with a handful of rice.

Hopefully not for HBO's sake, the prospect of the Williams/Pavlik fight is probably the reason that Paul got the decision last night.

Pavlik fans are quickly becoming the most annoying fans on ESB

You guys still trying to convince yourselves that Kelly would of had a chance against Bernard if he was "100% healthy"?
