I doubt it. He definitely didn't look as good as he has, though. I thought he was sharper when he fought Klitschko.
No. Don't be stupid. Sam got careless and walked into McCline's punches. He did not take Waldo so lightly. He simply got brave, dropped his hands walking in and got dropped by a big heavyweight. It can happen to the best chins who take a guy lightly.
Let's not judge a boxer on ONE performance. Sure he got dropped 3 times but he also ROSE 3 times AND WON. In the end it's who wins that matters. Same thing happened to Wlad and look at him now.
Well it's like Teddy Atlas said a few years ago. McCline has scary power. Not consistent enough to be a strong finisher (lucky for Sam) but strong enough to scare you. He can deck you very easily because he punches fast and in spurts. Coming from a man that big it's gonna hurt no matter how good your chin is. And yea Sam took some hellacious shots in close. He's lucky McCline can't finish it woulda been an embarrassment he'd never live down. He simply cannot disrespect his opponents on any level. Just like Lewis said, in a heavyweight fight anyone can score the KO. These guys are all over 200lbs plus. Just can't walk through them like they can't punch.
Well said, Im very disappointed in Peter, he showed Heart and a good jab, thats it. His chin looked like Wlads tonite, and he couldnt get his man out of there. This fight is strikingly similiar to the fight Peter fought against Wlad, both were knocked down 3 times and both showed heart and skill to win in the end.
People also don't realize that when Waldo was hitting Sam he was throwing through glove and forearm to land. Those punches McCline hit Sam with were flush, you don't land them any better than that. At least now we know that Sam isn't invincible. Thats about all we really needed to know. He needs to keep his hands up at all times against these big guys. Most of them don't throw to the body anyways so it's not a big strike against him.
