He wants to refamiliarize himself with the US audience and when he fights Wilder next year after Wilder made a few successful defenses and became a household name, it will be a huge fight in the US? Imagine Wlad beats Fury while Wilder beats Glazkov and Povetkin-Perez winner, and they set up a unification fight around this time next year. It will be a huge fight, probably the biggest since Vitali vs Lewis.

Just guessing, but it makes sense to me. Do you think it's how Wlad has it planned?

Can you really see Wilder being able to beat the Povetkin-Perez winner?

He's better off milking that belt for now against the likes of Seth Mayhem Mitchell

I think he might beat the Pov-Perez winner, yes. He might actually pull off a wide UD if he manages to not get caught with a big shot and get knocked out. He did show he can take a punch against Stiverne. Wilder somehow doesn't get half the credit Fury does on this forum, while his last win against a decent top 10 HW in Stiverne is better than any single win of Fury.

It's pretty obvious that with a US title holder now in play that a potentially big unification fight is a possibility and Wlad is looking to now milk this potentially lucrative option.

If Wilder wasn't a title holder Wlad would still be fighting in Germany and HBO would still be ignoring his fights.

But neither Wilder or Wlad are a big draw in the US. This fight needs a lot of work to be seen as anything other than another Wlad defence against an over matched opponent.

This could be the career defining fight Wlad so desperately needs. He had 2 opportunities to have a career defining fight with Haye and Povetkin but failed to impress or make it memorable in a positive way.

Lewis had his fights with Vitali and Holyfield that will be talked about for decades or more, Holyfield had the Bowe fights, Tyson had Spinks, Ali had the Rumble in the Jungle and the Thriller in Manilla. Wlad needs a fight that will be talked about for generations to come and this could be his last chance to be remembered in this way.

    :lol:You made a really good point,mate!

Povetkin will probably wipe the floor with that totally overrated american hype job Wilders.
As long as Wilders doesnt fight Povetkin he may be able to set up a mega fight in the USA,but if his path crosses Povetkin's one we will probably see Povetkin vs Wlad II in Russia's capital Moscow.

Odo, wow.. blast from the past. (Tekno here)

You think Povetkin would beat Wilder?

Intresting observation. I would be rooting for Povetkin tbh.
