Did Wlad take years off AJ or was he always at this level?

He's looked extremely mediocre against Takam and Parker. Is it just a style issue(Takam and Parker are difficult to look good against), or has that knockdown put fear in AJ? If he's always been at this level, it just shows how much Wlad dropped off since the Jennings fight.

So you think Hughie and Parker would have beaten Wlad or given him major issues too?

I think with everything being so big for Joshua, filling out 80,000 - 90,000 arenas. He's being more cautious, because there is more to lose. Having said that. If you think he looked terrible against Takam and Parker. Then he must be doing something right, because they hardly put a glove on him.

He has only had 21 fights! Mike Tyson didn't fight for a world title until after 27 fights. Joshua only had 15 fights before his world title shot. He is a champion that is learning on the job.

You’re asking which mediocre heavyweights could beat a shot Wlad? All I can tell you is they’d have a chance. But upon a time Wlad would have stopped them.

I dont think he looked mediocre at all. They werent exciting fights but he was clearly dominant against world class opposition

He clearly beat them both but neither Takam or Parker are world class. Our definitions of dominant is clearly different. To me dominant is Floyd schooling Canelo or Lara schooling Trout or BJS schooling Lemieux. Not edging out rounds due to Parker being inactive. Wilder would put this boy to sleep.

So when was Wlad shot? I would guess he was past his best but when do you think he was shot?
Jennings had just beaten Perez and Spilka who gave Wilder an argument

Either that or Parker/Takam are just match ups for him. I expected him to destroy the B-C level Parker. He did clearly win but it wasn't an impressive performance.

And King Kong dominated Jennings easily. Wlad struggled. Yeah he clearly won, but clearly winning doesn't mean it's impressive.

I don't think he was. He looked the best Wlad I've seen in years. He basically did a Floyd Mayweather against Conor Mcgregor. Which was take the fight to the opposition. Floyd got hit when he never should have, and Wlad wasn't his precautionary self. It's like both said to themselves "F it, I'm going out in style".

Wlad COULD have won that fight if he had not stepped off the gas when Joshua was hurt. His brother was shot before he retired. But Wlad wasn't. At 41 he looked good!

wilder didnt put Stiverne away the first time they fought and its difficult to say as Wilder hasnt fought at the level of Parker yet.
Wilder was in a fight that had drama with Ortiz but I would say that performance was more mediocre in that he was losing and getting hurt rather than dominating and that was at a level below Parker

He looked awful, just awful, in the Jennings fight. That’s when I pinpoint his shotness.

So do you think Ortiz shot or faded when he got to fight Wilder as he didnt look impressive and would have looked what you called mediocre against Allen and Scott?
