Wladimir fought who was put in front of him. He's good but he isn't immortal like this forum makes him out to be.

I've got a feeling that you're treading on the verge of his illustrious ignore list.

Ofc he isn't immortal, he even did not had ideally looking amateur record despite, yeah, he had a lot of gold medals and was Olympic champion.

Everyone is beatable, looks that boxer's origin and name matters more than reality when ppl evalue them.

Wlad did fight a lot of heavy handed fighters. No point to list them.

Because this era is even worse quality wise. But people like it because it's more competitive and guys are knocking each other out.

There's always going to be fights that didn't get made in every era. Wlad was so long at the top that he might rack up a few more than others.
Some big omissions were other title holders.
    1. His own brother (completely understandable and forgivable)
    2. SNV This should have happened. I'm of the unpopular opinion that SNV was a bad style match up for Wlad's jab and grab.
    3. Wilder. Completely Wilder's fault. Wilder's record of taking on tough challenges is pathetic.
There were other places where Vitali was playing blocker and took on some bad style match ups in place of Wlad, but overall Wlad fought who was available, and he usually won. His stye was often dull and borderline illegal, but he did what hen needed to do to win his fights. He was a great fighter who reigned at the top for a long time and deserves recognition as such.

Have to disagree about Valuev. By the time the Valuev fight was being discussed, Valuev was way past his best. He was never the fastest fighter but he looks glacial towards the end of his career. Wlad's footwork and speed advantage would have been all that he'd needed to win a boring UD over Nikolai.

I was never a big fan of Wlad’s, but I can’t think of anyone who he avoided. Not when you look at the timelines etc. Fighters are always going to miss some people from their era. It’s inevitable. But to give Wlad his due, I think he fought everyone relevant. I think he’d have fought Lennox had he not have come unstuck early on in his career.

He didn’t avoid Chisora or Stiverne. And he fought much more dangerous guys than those two.

A guy like Stiverne would have been a punching bag.

How can we criticise Wlad for not fighting a guy like that when he went and fought a young, hungry AJ?

    You’re overthinking things here.

If he’d have fought those guys instead of AJ, you’d be saying that he fought 2 B level guys instead of AJ and Fury.

Not sure if you’re serious, but how were those fights viable?

He couldn’t fight Mike in his prime.

    Bowe wouldn’t fight him.

Wlad took himself out of contention with his early losses.

Ike’s last fight was in 1999.

I was never a fan of Lennox’ but he didn’t dodge those guys.

Yes. All these boxers: Lewis, Vitali and Wlad had won this his version via UD, I have no doubts.
He will not had land anything significant on them and they will not get him down, there 0 hope for this to be happen.
End of the game: very boring UD wins.

Arreola KOd scrubs, he never stopped anyone worth a ****. His best stoppage win was a 40 yr old McCline who'd lost 3 of his last 4. Who the fk has Stiverne KOd? It took him 10 to stop a 41 year old Ray Austin.. Arreola? LOL Big deal, only took him two goes at it.. & Areola's not exactly iron chinned is he.. Stivernes KO ratio isn't standout by any means, he's not some noteable puncher. He's also lazy & limited too. Is that all you got those 3 dumplings? LOL Wlad would have minced these guys, he fought much better fighters than those 3. I suggest you direct your criticism at some of today's active fighters, they could learn a thing or two from Wlad about facing all comers..
