Really? What's are his best wins then? Bika? Manfredo was his big US showcase and coming out party  I love how people forget this bull**** about Calzaghe. He beat Kessler, good win....but lets see where Kessler goes from here or if he was all hype just like Lacy was.

the list chould be exactly the same as it was but with Mosley in it and Margo out.

Why the hell is Cotto dropped out? cause he's a Bob Arum fighter?

Never ceases to amaze me the number of US fans who think Calzaghe's career began in 2006! In no particular order, a list of fighters who were better wins than Manfredo:

Jones (even at that stage)
Hopkins
Kessler
Bika
Lacy
Mitchell
Brewer
Woodhall
Sheika
Starie
Reid
Eubank

Want any more?
JMM and Pac fought twice (I scored a close win each), however, I think Pac is the better all round fighter, JMM just had the style to give him fits. I couldn't imagine JMM doing what Pac did to DLH and the rest of his resume doesn't stack up to Pac's. Plus he lost twice in his prime to Norwood and Chris John who are not p4p level fighters.

As for Calzaghe, not being able to stand him is one thing (he is not always the most endearing guy granted) but that should not get in the way of objective ranking, if indeed it has.
Do you really think, if they were the same size, that Calzaghe could beat Rafa, Izzy, Pac or JMM???? Come on man. He has NEVER fought anyone close to there level. The best guy he ever fought was an old Hopkins who many felt he lost to and he looked like **** and was dropped by him. :deal

Do you think Calzaghe's first career fight was against Lacy, or something?

Although even if you do, it's a fairly hard sell if you want to argue that Manfredo is even in the 'top five wins' of Calzaghe's last six fights...

I think the logic is that he got pounded by Margo who got pounded by Mosley hence Mosley takes the p4p spot (forgetting that Cotto beat him in the first place). It's typical A beat B beat C logic which has lead to some very dubious p4p ratings over the last few years (as per my previous post, Pavlik, Junior Jones, Forrest, Mayorga) who have disappeared as quickly as they came.

I personally don;t think like that, I like the guys who have proven they can do it over a long period of time against all styles and good world class competition. Guys like Calzaghe, Pac, Marquez, Israel Vazquez. Cotto falls into that category for me, he has an impressive record and I think his loss to Margo was simply a case of styles making fights and the fighter who is not the all round better man being the winner. Not to mention that with the events of the last few days that win now has a huge question mark over it.

Why did your hero even fight him then. Time to cement his legacy and he fights Manfredo, Kessler who I give him credit for....but then finishes up with an old ass Jones and claims that beating Jones in Vegas solidifies his greatness :patsch The guy is a joke!

Because HBO weren't interested in Robert Stieglitz. By fighting an american tv name it meant HBO then picked up the Kessler fight and helped make the Hopkins fight. The kind that 'cement a legacy', as you say.

Why are you even commenting if you don't know basic facts?

#1 that Old Hopkins is p4p #4 according to ring and had panned Tarver, Wright and Pavlik in the surrounding fights. Secondly, if Larios who is nowhere close to Calzaghe's level can do it to Vazquez and Genaro Garcia ca do it to Marquez (let's not even mention Norwood) then yeah I think he might. Thirdly, I don't think you can honestly try and judge who would win a fight between two guys at completely opposite ends of the weight range in a style-dependant sport such as boxing. I prefer to judge on overall skill set, but mostly on resume and accomplishments plus the quality and range of opponents seen off. Only one man on that list has seen them all of.

Well with the ten world champs on it, I'd say it's none too shabby. Care to tell me who Israel Vazquez (for example) has beaten that makes his any better? Or JMM?
