Chavez Jr. looked like he was doing a Kingpin impression... Minus the defensive skills.

Really? Did you already remove cards like Floyd/Berto and Floyd/Pac from your memory bank?

The 3 fights prior to Canelo/Jr were all pretty good.

Didn't enjoy it at all. I expected some effort from Chavez Jr. I think Beristain saw how Floyd beat Canelo and thought Chavez Jr could execute the same game plan. What an idiotic game plan by Nacho considering who his fighter was.

Rarely am I disappointed after a night of boxing and I especially hope that is not the case when I pay for pay per view but I must say I was disappointed with the Canelo vs Chavez fight. I expected a whole lot more from Chavez who really looked like he was just trying to hold his own and survive not win. I was expecting him to bring it to Canelo and force Canelo to open up a lot more then he had to. I feel a little stupid for those expectations considering how bad Chavez has looked in recent years but for some reason I was expecting him to rise to the occasion and do lot better. Overall the fight card wasn't great I watched from the Mattyhsse fight on, I enjoyed watching Matthysse other then that I was disappointed Lemieux wasn't able to get a knock out though I was impressed by his opponents durability and as I said I was quite disappointed at the fight Canelo and Chavez put on. Canelo looked his ordinary self in there while Chavez looked very disinterested. It was clear Chavez could take Canelo's shot well at no point comes to mind in the fight where he was hurt or in trouble but other then that really nothing good to say about his performance. Chavez continuously moved backwards and took punches from Canelo with pretty much no answer. I won't have much interest in continuing watching Chavez's career unless he is able to drastically turn things around from this point. I'll be honest after ordering this event it makes me feel like not ordering other PPV's which I am on the fence on whether to spend the money to watch live or to watch the next day on the computer and risk the outcome being spoiled. I didn't order Canelo's fight with Liam Smith which was a good fight that I wouldn't have been disappointed if I had ordered it. Next fringe PPV that comes up I may not order. I will definitely be ordering Canelo vs GGG though that is a great match up that I cannot picture being a dull fight in anyway.

Groves vs Jack was a great fight, that alone puts it above last nights card. And no the Lemieux fight was awful.

Smith came to fight, so did Khan. Those fights were entertaining. I thought Khan - Canelo was a very entertaining and satisfying fight. Smith - Canelo was just a notch below that, because I thought Smith was capable of going the full 12 rounds and giving Canelo a closer fight, but he still came to fight and it was entertaining while it lasted. Canelo vs Chavez was obviously disapointing, but that's on Chavez not Canelo. It still had a certain intrigue to it though. I mean when you consider the entertaining undercard (Diaz Jr fight was fun to watch I thought) and the aftermath with Triple G, it wasn't really all that bad. I wasn't really shocked that Canelo won so easily, I mean it could have been worse. What if Chavez came to fight, had a war with Canelo and derailed the Triple G fight lol. Then we'd be pissed at Chavez for a different reason. A lot of Triple G fans I think are pissed at Chavez for letting Canelo have such an easy night. Surely many Triple G fans wanted to see Chavez beat up Canelo and soften him up for Triple G. That surely didn't happen. Canelo just boxed his socks off.

You're all over the place with this.

How was Lemieux/Reyes an awful fight? Because it turned out to be more competitive than most expected?

fight is fixed. its a mexican pay day. and it was a sparring match sold to the public. canelo needed rds with a bigger guy in a hyped up fight so it worked perfectly. so he had a sparring session with thousands of people watching to prepare for ggg. chavez will prolly get a check after the ggg fight as well for agreeing to throw fight.

What would be Jr's motivation for "throwing" this fight? Money?

Not clear if some of you enjoy looking re tarded or are simply clueless that you're coming off that way.

    Doesn't make sense.

You don't think he would have been rewarded tenfold had he won the fight? Not to mention the amount of ridicule he knew he would have to suffer for throwing the fight.

I honestly don't think you've thought this through.

So what better way to get back at them then to throw a wrench in their plans. What was DLH going to do, complain to the commission that Jr went back on his word to throw the fight.

No, as others have said probably the worst PPV main event I've seen. It was the same thing every round, Chavez Jr. took no risks, and Canelo isn't a good enough pressure fighting to press his advantage.
