    Cotto's jab is a thing of beauty and he threw it as well as I've ever seen it.

    Plenty of changes as noted above also a change in gloves....maybe a technical reason behind that. Miguel always liked Cleto Reyes and he used to open the glove up and cover his face openhanded. Last night he seemed to be wearing big pillow type gloves but still did the same type job you come to expect from Miguel.

    I thought he was better defensively and was using his jab a lot more......also he wasnt leaning forward as much as he sometimes does....

    I think the technique was a bit better, so I say the best in that sense. It is a hurtful punch. Very amazed how much damage it can do, but he really times that punch so well.

    Cotto should jab even more. I imagine that may happen with Manny coaching him now. Steward is all about the basics, and that is exactly what Cotto has needed. No wasted movement with his feet either. I really liked that.

    Some still blame Manny for Taylor, but the fact is Taylor wouldn't listen to him. I don't think that experience should be held against him. The things he does with big men still mostly apply to the smaller guys.

    That's not what I saw. To be sure, Foreman started having success with lead rights in round 4, but in the very next round Cotto made adjustments and regained control.

    He may still be a sucker for uppercuts, but his stance most certainly DID change.

    He was fighting much more upright and fighting 'taller'. He was not leaning in with his head down and elbows out. He was using a style that focused more on balance, exactly as Emanuel said before the fight.

    I think Steward still has time to build Cotto into a more confident and more complete fighter. That said, I am with you 100%. Given the short period of time they worked together, Steward helped Cotto return to the basics.

    I really do admire Emanuel Steward's ability as a trainer, particularly when he has students who are willing to learn and work hard to improve.

    Taylor was not a smart fighter and was not a good student. He sucked at doing what he was told.

    Taylor's demise can be summed up in a quote he himself once made:

    what amazes me is that when a fighter gets hit you guys say he did great but he got hit, well take a look at the punch stats. Its a boxing match every fighter is gonna get hit its impossible to avoid all shots.

    I thought he looked very sharp, focused and anticipated Yuri's moves well. It's not easy to look good against him, but he did. Plus, Foreman is a quite a bit bigger.

    I think Emmanuel Steward deserves a LOT of credit. It's one thing to take over a winning fighter and keep him winning, but Cotto was at a career-low point in terms of confidence and momentum, but Steward made him come back and convincingly so.
