    Bored of all the mayweather/Pacquiao business so thought id get some oppinions;

Which do you personally prefer 12 or 15 round championship fights?

Why was it changed from 15 to 12?

Also what was your favourite 15 round fight, and what was your favourite 12 round fight. note id like to see ones that went the distance not just scheduled for that many rounds?

thanks in advance, il also post a poll

I prefer 12 because of the even number of rounds and you have to win more of the rounds to win percentage wise. like u have to win 7-5 instead of 8-7

Favourite 12 rounder is probably Pacquiao v Marquez 2

Favourite 15 rounder is SRL V Roberto Duran

it was changed due to many injuries namely the ray mancini vs Duk Koo Kim tragedy in 1982

15 rounds is the way it should be. This would force guys especially heavies to come in the ring in shape.

i love the 15 round battles. really tested the fighters with stamina and determination issues. but for their safety i fully support the 12 round battles.

will throw up my faves in a few kid

Imagine Ali vs Frazier I or III with no rounds 13-15(14).

Ive grown up watching 12 rd fights, but watching 15 rounders gives proper meaning to the therm 'championship rounds'.

    It depends who's fighting.

    If PAC = 15 rds.

    If FLOYD = 12 rds.

changed with the fighter's safety in mind, including their careers. Only takes one brutal 15round fight to be a career ender. I want my fav fighter to keep fighting!

only 12 rounds - less rounds to pace yourself, compared to 15 rounds. Translates - more action in less time! Can you complain about that?

imagine if you were there at the event, or even watching it live! What if 1-2 championship title undercards plus a champion title main event went 15 rounds? Whoa - thats making things TOO long!

    I prefer 15.

Like many people, I have real doubts on whether it was really changed for fighter safety anyway. Back then boxing was on network TV. Easier to fit 12 rounds + commercials + intros + interviews in one hour than to fit 15 rounds in this time frame.
