From what I'm reading from boxing columnist, yeah there are their fair share that believe it was a fight that could have gone either way, but I'm also seeing from those very same columnist that are saying that, at about a 2-1 clip, those same columnist had JMM winning. .....then I take a look at Ringtalks Pedro Fernandez who on the days leading to the fight berated JMM as just a second rate fighter who shoud'nt be considered amongst the elites.....Fernandez called it a lock that Pac would run through JMM and knock him out. Heres a sample of what Fernandez had to say..... Fernandez who had every reason to want Pacquiao to win and not look like a fool for what he had written about JMM, comes out the next day after the fight having scored the fight 8 rounds to 4 for JMM, siting that he had watched the fight alongside 5 other coleauges and they were all in aggreement that JMM was the clear winner. Fernandez came out again in an ariticle today in which he polled 10 other writers and by a vote of 9-1 had JMM as the winner. Its colums like this that solidify my claim that JMM was the fighter that by all rights should have had his hand raised. I doubt very seriously that you could chose 10 boxing columnist at random and have more than not say that Pac deserved to win or even to get a draw. .....but I guarantee you that it would'nt suprise anyone to have the same scenario turn up out of drawing columnist at random, to have JMM winning the poll and doing it handliy. Here is another poll that someone shared in the classic section, from the neutral country of Russia...... AllBoxing.ru Marquez - 65% ( 43 ) Pacquiao - 34% ( 23 ) Boxing.ru Marquez - 81% ( 34 ) Pacquiao - 19% ( 8 )[/quote] From what I've heard and seen the polls coming out of countries that are neutral on the matter like Russia, they're pretty much the way the Russian poll is. That Russian poll right there says the whole story. The Russians could give a rats ass whether Manny Pacquiao is being marketed and hyped by the American press.....and so there should be no question that a poll coming out of Russia would be more reliable than one coming out of the Phillipines, Mexico, and even the US. .....but even in the US, you visit most boxing sites and Polls would have more people believing that JMM was the winner. .....go even to Boxing Confidential where they love Manny and are as biased as you can get, there's an article there which is quoting various Phillipine columnist saying that JMM should have been declared the winner, some even going as far as to say they are embarrassed for the way the Flipino's and even the Flilipino media has shamelessly handled the matter. Make not question, the polls everywhere, and articles like Pedro Fernandez' on Ringtalk, show the true story of the matter!
i just finished reviewing this fight and i have pac now 115-112. but many are close rounds (about 4) that i will not call it a clear win for him. and definitely this fight was not a robbery.
Divac, what will it take to calm you? What do you suggest should be done to soothe you? You seem very affected by the result of the fight.
Polls? Polls are based on majority perceptions . . . and it doesn't mean it is correct. You are using the polls to justify your arguement? :rofl Read this: This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected

You guys still going at it? Get over it. You guys weren't there at the ring side to see what is the right thing to do. Even if someone landed more accurate shots without any power behind it(Boxer A) against someone who threw little and did more devastating(Boxer B). You can't deny that Boxer B has the nod. Theres a different on the sound of punches on the TV and the sound of punches near the ring. Judges also decide on the agrression, power, and KDs. They don't rely only on the volume punches, jabs, combinations and other stuffs. No robbery or stupid gift decisions, its a close match which the better boxer did won convincingly on the judges eyes.
Yes, based on your scoring. A lot of people scored this fight and there are those who scored it for JMM and there are those who scored it for Pacman. Unfortunately for JMM, 2 judges scored it for Pacman. Get over it. We can ask kg about this (since he is studying Psychology) but I know that there are stages for things like this. First stage is denial. You cannot accept at what had just happened. Then the next stage is anger. You are mad because things like this happened. Then acceptance. You came to realize that there is nothing more you can do and just move on with your life. I think you are still in the denial stage. The faster you accept the result, the faster you can move on with your life.
selfkill accepted my suggestion to rewatch the fight. i hope that after that, he would move to the "acceptance stage" and skip the "anger" stage."
I rewatched the fight, and I still have it 115-113 for JMM. I particularly watched the 7th and 9th several times since those rounds, in my eyes, were won by Marquez. I rewatched them to make sure that I just wasn't being biased for Marquez. Mind you, I was able to pause and utilize the slow-motion button in rewatching the action; HOWEVER, I did not have this luxury when I ORIGINALLY scored these rounds for Marquez. The 7th round started with Marquez landed some good shots. The middle part of the round PacMan flurried, but watching it in slow-mo it clearly showed that PacMan did not land as the crowd and the HBO announcers would like one to think. In one instance, Lampley howls, "And a hard left by Manny Pacquaio." Watching it in slow-mo and in regular speed I could clearly see that the punch did not land. The crowd roared, but it was a missed punch. During this PacMan flurry, JMM also was able to land. The last 1/3 of the 7th round was won by JMM. He landed the cleaner punches. So in this case, I had JMM winning the 7th round. I also thought the 9th round went to JMM when watching it live, and after rewatching it using slow-mo, I also scored the round for JMM. In regular speed I can see why people think that PacMan won the round, however, I still believe JMM won that round. So just to be fair, I scored that round a 10-10 round. Even IF JMM had lost that round, the worst he would have gotten in my book would have been a draw. Anyhow, PacMan may have gotten the decision, but in my book he lost the fight. This is my scorecard for the fight. JMM: 09-10-08-09-10-10-10-10-10-09-10-10= 115 MP : 10-09-10-10-09-09-09-09-10-10-09-09= 113
