If JMM won and was not given the decision, that's a **** decision, and/or " robbery ". Close fights can have clear results and that means a clear winner was in place. If you know how to score a fight, Marquez WON, none of this 'case can be made ****', Marquez clearly WON more rounds. Not a highway robbery, not even a bad one, but Pac didn't win all the same.
and this fight is not one of them. you are talking about fights like cotto-mosley and marquez-barrera.
I think the most Pac deserved was a draw. Even then i would have said JMM got robbed. I also rewatched the fight in slow motion and it did seem like HBO was chanting at everything Pac threw close to JMM. alot of that was not landing cleanly. I looked at the HBO website too and only found a couple of pictures of JMM landing on Pac which is funny since there were plenty of times in the fight. I knew this would happen since its more money to be made if Pac won. JMM landed the clean precise punches. Look at their faces at the end of the fight. JMM had the cuts and thats it. While Pacs face was all bruised up from the clean punches that were landed.
Exactly.....since these were the rounds that were the swing rounds between those who had Pac winning or JMM winning....I took a deep look into those rounds myself to make sure I was'nt being biased in my scoring. RingKing, I'd encourage you to take a rewatch of the 1st round as well, it was a pretty even feelout round, not much action between the fighters, but there are two punches that seperate JMM from Pacquiao imo....a hard right hand landed flush on Manny Pac, and an uppercut type body shot lander with some authority to close the round for Marquez. You're right on in your analysis of round 7 and 9 however...... The 9th being the closest round of the fight imo but with JMM clearly landing shots that were more telling midway and to close that round.
Good scorecard, those rounds were definitely close, specifically the 7th. Some good punches from JMM in the 7th: This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected Some good punches from Pac in the 7th: This content is protected This content is protected You mean this divac: This content is protected The fight was definitely close, no robbery. A draw and a point either way would have been fine, IMO.
Common Divac . . . you are making yourself look bad . . . pretty bad. All the three judges gave round one to Pacquaio. So there should be no question about round one. atsch :rofl
Again this boils down to people's understanding how the "10 round must system" works. A figfter who impresively dominates his opponent in a round . . gets 10. And a fighter who wins a round unimpresively also gets 10. So even if a fighter impresively dominates his opponent for 6 rounds and loses the other 6 rounds in a closely contested fashion it's gonna be a draw. Being impresive in 6 rounds doesn't necessarily mean you'll win the fight. You people claims . . . you are boxing fans? Then better learn how it works . . . dammit! Or otherwise . . . just admit you are mere NUTHUGGERS SHAME on YOU ! ! ! :yep
Of course they did. I think we all knew from the get go that any round not dominated by JMM was'nt going to go his way. Marquez clearly did'nt dominate the 1st, and therefore you have three judges scoing for the name fighter. I thing that was almost a given from the start, but it still does'nt mean I cant make my argument that Marquez took the round clearly by landing those two shots in round 1 that seperated him from Pac. Btw, I keep hearing from Pac fans, get over it divac, enough already. ..... :nut to them I say, stop opening up these threads in debate of the fight. I only started one thread in the general forum, and that was right after the fight asking for scorecards. If you Pac's dont like to read my reasoning, dont open up threads for me to post in.
I saw no robbery. Could've gone either way. It would've been a robbery if Pacquiao won every scorecard by 5 rounds or more
I think we all knew ??? :think That statement is baseless . . . and is just your opinion influenced by you being at the losing end . . . Divac. :-( Can't blame the Pac FANATICS or the NUTHUGGERS . . . which ever you want to call them . . . they've earned their bragging rights. They'll keep opening up more threads to make JMM fans look desperate and foolish. Now you want to play their games . . . fine with me. :yep :good
9th round action: For JMM: This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected For Pac: This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
They've earned bragging rights because 3 judges who by history have shown to be corrupt say so???? Look at the polls my friend and see that more people thought JMM won!:deal ....and my statment is not baseless, as a few of us on the JMM side beforehand were conscious of the fact that JMM needed to dominate each round to get it, we even posted as such in the prediction threads. Its no secret that when Norton faces Ali, Ali will get the benefit of the doubt in any round that is even semicompetitive, when Hagler faces Leonard, the same, and so on with these megafight matchups......you'be got to be pretty nieve if you dont think that Judges will almost always give the benefit of the doubt to the bigger name!
