Kevin Finnegan the British and Euro champ from the 1970s was found dead in his house at age 60. Any one know the cause of death?

Also, what are thoughts on Finnegan? He gave Hagler a couple of tough fights and beat fighters like Sibson, Bouttier, Tonna.

I only saw him fight once in the flesh,I think it was against Cordoba,he was a, tough man with a very good chin ,liked a drink and was a talented painter.Good boxer whose skin sometimes let him down,I thought he had more talent than his bigger brother Chris, both had tons of heart.Very sorry to hear the bad news RIP Kevin.

    Sad news.

He was an excellent technician.Much better than a quick glance at his record indicates.

There is a story on the Seconds Out site.

I remember Hagler giving kudos to Finnegan about being one of his toughest fights, prior to winning the title. I don't know which of the two fights with Finnegan he was referring to. Also, why did Finnegan fight Hagler twice in 1978?

    :-(

Finnegan probably fought Hagler again because of the hell he was giving him when the fight was stopped after 8 rounds. Kevin was a point behind, having rallied to win the previous 3 stanzas. But at that stage his face was so badly cut, Mickey Duff (i think) called it off.

R.I.P. To one of boxing's toughest ever men. Touched the deck just once as an amateur or pro. I have three of his fights, including Sibbo and Minter. :-(

i am surprised...and disapointed..that there hasn't been more media coverage of this...
google news has just 2 shorts news stories returned on this...

i'd be very impressed if buncey dedicated a couple of minutes on his next show to a short piece on him...his achivements deserve it.
